Scientific Name
Philodendron squamiferum x pedatum (tree-hugger: scale-bearing species crossed with pedate-leaved species) 'Florida Green'

Common Name
Florida Green Philodendron

Origin
Native to tropical parts of South America

Description
This climbing Philodendron is characterised by its glossy, pedated (shaped like birds' feet) leaves and as a houseplant, like most philodendrons, it is fairly easygoing. In its natural habitat it's used to growing up tree trunks or along the forest floor, so likes indirect light best and won't mind a spot of shade. These shiny leaves with their fascinating shapes are really eyecatching; this variety is on the rare side so will be an impressive addition to your collection too!

Light
Place in moderate to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as this can scorch the leaves.

Water
Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out in between waterings (these plants are easy-going so if you wait a little longer to water don't panic!). Ensure good drainage and don't allow to sit in water.

Humidity
Appreciates above average humidity, but will do just fine in most standard household humidity. Will appreciate an occasional misting, especially if in a dryer spot. Water less in darker areas.

Soil
Use a chunky, well draining mix; one designed for Monsteras or Philodendrons will be ideal. Repot every two years in spring as the plant grows.

Food
Will benefit from a light feed throughout spring and summer, about every four waters.

Temperature
Average household temperatures of about 18-28° are fine- try not to place somewhere where temperatures dip below 12°C for extended periods.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans.

Sprouts Top Tips
Water with tepid rather than cold water to avoid shocking the plant. Rotate it now and then to promote even growth. Avoid draughty spots.

A favorite with my dogs but didn't last long
    Color: Fox-Crocodile, Color: Fox-Crocodile
These have been a HUGE hit with my aggressive chewers but after less than 3 months, this is all that is left of the poor fox and alligator. My youngest STILL plays with them like they are brand new. I will probably buy them again but wish they were actually designed for aggressive chewers as advertised. I would say it's more for the average chewer. 4 stars because it was a good purchase and a top favorite toy but just didn't last long.

    Too Cute!!!
    Color: Fox-Crocodile, Color: Fox-Crocodile
This was a pleasant surprise and especially for the price!!! You get a 2 pack of toys!!!! They are absolutely adorable and made to last!!! Soft and lightweight!!! Has a nice squeakiness which my dog adores. I appreciate that they are made to fold up and Velcro so they become very compact. You can store them so easily and/or slide in your purse, traveling bag or leave one in your car. They fold up to be the size of folded socks. I recommend.

Our pup loves it (to pieces)!
    Color: Fox-Crocodile
Fun toy for our playful pup, but nothing indestructible. She finds a seam and in days, the toy is in bits. Lucky for us, she still enjoys playing with parts! Package of 2. One down, one to go!

    Holds Up Well
    Color: Fox-Crocodile
My dog loves this toy and after several months of heavy use he has yet to rip it apart like he's done with every other toy I've bought him. He has a hard time grabbing it with his teeth to play his usual tug of war games.

    Cute
    Color: Fox-Crocodile
I love the interactive toys, BUT my dogs are either too destructive or smart because they’ve ripped the little treat part, so I can’t hide stuff in there anymore. Otherwise, they still play tug of war with it. Probably better for smaller or lazy dogs.
