Tropical Blue Bamboo – Bambusa chungii
Tropical Blue Bamboo (Bambusa chungii) is prized for its unique powdery blue culms that give the plant its distinctive color. The blue coating on the culms creates a striking contrast against the green foliage and makes this bamboo especially attractive in tropical landscapes.
This bamboo forms a tall upright clump with strong culms and a graceful canopy of leaves. When planted in rows it can create a tall privacy screen, but it is also commonly used as a specimen plant where the unusual culm color can be appreciated.
