With its dramatic, arrow-shaped leaves and bold silver veining, the Alocasia Polly is a living sculpture that turns any shelf or tabletop into a design statement. Compact yet commanding, this tropical gem delivers maximum visual impact in a surprisingly small footprint.
Key Features
- Dramatic leaf shape — Narrow, arrow-shaped leaves with deeply scalloped edges create a striking, almost architectural silhouette
- Bold contrast — Dark, glossy green leaves are traced with prominent silver-white veins and backed with rich purple undersides
- Compact size — At 25–30 cm, it works perfectly on shelves, desks, and as part of a curated plant display
- Living conversation piece — Its exotic appearance draws attention and complements modern, minimalist, and tropical interiors
- Dynamic grower — Produces new leaves from the centre, each one unfurling with a satisfying, dramatic reveal
Why It Works in Dubai
Alocasia Polly's tropical heritage means it naturally thrives in warm environments. Dubai's indoor temperatures suit it perfectly, and while it appreciates higher humidity, regular misting or a pebble tray easily compensates for air-conditioned dryness. Position it in bright, indirect light away from harsh afternoon sun for the best leaf colour and growth.
Care Snapshot
| Light | Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun which can scorch leaves |
| Water | Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy; water when the top 1–2 cm dries |
| Humidity | High; mist regularly or use a pebble tray |
| Temperature | 18–27 °C; avoid draughts and cold spots below 15 °C |
| Skill Level | Intermediate |
What You'll Receive
One healthy Alocasia Polly, approximately 25–30 cm tall, in a nursery grow pot with well-developed, veined foliage.
