• Haworthia 'Chocolate' is a stunning hybrid known for its rich, brownish-burgundy to deep bronze foliage. It forms a compact rosette of thick, triangular leaves. The surface of the leaves is textured with tiny tubercles and features "fenestrate" (translucent) windows near the tips, which allow light to penetrate the inner tissues of the plant.
  
  This plant is a cultivated hybrid derived from species native to the Western and Eastern Cape of South Africa. Its ancestors evolved to grow partially buried in the soil or tucked under the shade of rocks, which is why Haworthia 'Chocolate' handles indoor "bookshelf" lighting much better than most succulents.
  
  Like many in its genus, Haworthia 'Chocolate' produces small, tubular white flowers with subtle green or brown striping. These flowers appear on a very long, slender stalk (peduncle) that can reach up to 12 inches high.
