CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• ☀️ Light: Bright but MANDATORILY diffused light. Here lies the main secret to this plant’s healthy glow: for 'Green Congo' to maintain its compact, symmetrical form and for the leaves not to grow pale, it requires a large amount of light (it will especially enjoy the gentle morning or late evening sun rays). However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn its glossy leaves and irreversibly dry them out. An east or west-facing windowsill is the perfect choice.

• 💧 Watering: Moderate and very thoughtful. Philodendrons do not tolerate overly frequent watering and root soaking. Allow the top layer and the middle layer of the soil to dry out completely between watering sessions! Since the small young plant is in a small 6 cm mini pot, moisture will evaporate relatively quickly from the soil, but the plant absolutely cannot tolerate standing water in the saucer, which can quickly cause sensitive young root rot. If in doubt – wait a few more days.

• 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: A warmth-loving tropical resident (ideally +18°C to +25°C), which, thanks to its thick leaves, can relatively well and patiently adapt to normal, dry indoor air. Of course, it will appreciate moderate or increased air humidity (above 50%), which will help new leaves open even more easily and quickly. In winter, strictly protect it from cold drafts!

• 🐾 Pets: Keep away from pets. Like all philodendrons, 'Green Congo' contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed. Place this small seedling out of reach of your four-legged friends.

Do not repot this small seedling immediately into a too large pot – philodendron roots prefer a compact environment. When you repot it in the future, be sure to use an extremely airy, porous, and loose aroid soil mix (generously mixed with perlite, coconut chips, and fine orchid bark) so the roots can breathe freely and water drains instantly through the pot.
