Solarscape® XL Pink Jewel is a tender perennial, usually grown as an annual, that blooms from late spring through fall, typically to first frost. The vibrant, bright pink blooms are 2½ to 2¾ inches wide and have a satiny pearlescent sheen. They completely cover the plant non-stop all season, adding a touch of tropical flair to the garden.

The high-performance varieties in the Solarscape series grow well in sun or shade and fill in quickly. Solarscape XL Pink Jewel has a mounded habit of dense foliage with superior disease resistance, especially to impatiens downy mildew. It is shown to best effect when massed in beds and borders but is also perfect for containers and hanging baskets. Solarscape XL Pink Jewel is a great option for brightening areas with dappled sun, such as around the base of trees.

A beloved garden staple, low-maintenance and easily grown from seed, interspecific impatiens grow best in sunny to partially sunny locations with humus rich, moist, well-draining soil. It is important to keep impatiens well-watered and protected from strong winds.

Start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost date and transplant seedlings into the garden in spring when the threat of frost has passed.
