Philodendron Selloum 'Hope' - 5x Seeds

Philodendron Selloum is a beautiful large-leaved plant that has been grown by collectors for many years. It’s an easy-care species that will adapt to almost any growing conditions provided you give it plenty of light.

One of the larger houseplants you can have, the Philodendron Selloum, aka Philodendron Hope or Philodendron Bipinnatifidum, is a relatively popular indoor plant and is pretty often confused for the Monstera Deliciosa.

Philodendron Selloum is an exceptionally beautiful foliage plant, which is usually grown for its impressive leaves. When mature, the plant forms a sturdy trunk, making this species one of the true giants of the Philodendron family.

Philodendron Selloum is a large and impressive plant that can grow to 4 or 5 feet in height with leaves up to 90 cm long and 60 cm wide. The plant is part of the Araceae family and has thick stalks which support the leaves. The leaves droop as they mature and are glossy and dark green. These plants are commonly referred to as hope Philodendron and are commonly kept as houseplants worldwide. They can also be grown outside in the right climate.

General ’Philodendron Selloum 'Hope' Growing From Seed Planting Advice

Seed Starting Method No special pre treatment is required for this variety. It’s not necessary to pre-soak the seeds, but it can definitely be helpful. To soak them, pour some warm-hot water into a jar, drop the seeds in, and leave them in the water for 24-48 hrs
Sowing Depth 1-2mm - press them in and lightly cover with soil
Growing Season Spring / Summer but will germinate year around in sheltered & warm conditions
Germination Time The seeds germinate anywhere from a few weeks upto a month
Hardiness Hardy
Plant Spacing  A few inches apart in a larger pot or singular in small pots
Plant Height
Planting Position Partial or full sun - The more light you can offer the seedlings the better they'll grow
Days Until Maturity  Plant out into larger pots when seedling show signs of good root development.
Growing tips

Cover your pots with cling wrap or similar and place them in a warm sunny position. Keep moist but not soggy. Don't allow your soil/ potting medium to dry out.

Once the seedings start to emerge, you can start hardening them up by removing the plastic covering for increasing blocks of time. Eventually you can remove the covering altogether and mist them so they can get the humidity they need. Keep the soil moist while the seedlings are still small, but as they grow you can start letting the soil dry out a little more between waterings.

Do not be too hasty to discard seeds that have not yet germinated, seeds will often lay dormant (in hibernation almost) until the conditions are similar to their natural requirements for germination and sprouting to occur. Containers placed to one side & forgotten about will often surprise long after they were discarded.

So cute!
Good size toy, but my 1yr old Jack Russell is NB match for it. It’s good quality and I’m sure it would last longer with a less aggressive chewer.

Dog loves it! Squeaky on both ends!
Bungee rope is not as resistant as I wished, but its fun nonetheless! Squeaks in head and tail. Misssteped the tail and broke one squeaker, still fun though! Toy can handle a beating. Really happy with it!

My dogs loves this toy
I got a few different toys for them today. I need to go through their toybox and get rid of some of the older ones. I can tell the youngster loves the toys. He has taken them into one of the crates and sat with them. Then he brought them back out. He fell asleep with his head against one of them. He has been playing tug of war with this one. And the older one has been running around with it too. Pup already pulled one eye off of this one. But the toy is intact.

SPOT Bungee Raccoon
Purchased 5/20. Decent dog toy. I have a Chiyorkie and he chews on his toys constantly. The squeakers went after a couple of days and then he pulled them out. I put them in the trash. After about two months he had chewed off the head and pulled the bungee out. The bungee went in the trash. I let him play with head and tail pieces for a while but the head had gotten into bad shape so in the trash it went. That left about a twelve inch piece left. He has been playing with that now about a month. He loved tearing the toy up and I do not really blame the toy. He rips up anything that is made of cloth. The only real issue I have with the toy is the two squeakers. IMO they could cause a choking or bowel blocking hazard. I just happened to catch him chewing on them after he had gotten them back. An old knotted on each end knee sock works just about as well but from then on don't leave your socks laying around. They will be fair game for you pet. lol

Fun but.... doesnt stand up to hard play
A very fun toy. My dog loved it - short term. The bungee broke on Day 1 from pulling. (It is designed to be a tug toy, so I assume it should have lasted longer). After a couple weeks, my dog had pulled it apart. Super fun toy, but not for hard play.
