Raindrops is a popular Echeveria variety in the Crassulaceae family, which was bred by Dick Wright (who is famous for hybridizing the genus Echeveria, breeding more than 70 species). The leaves have tubercles that look like raindrops falling on the leaves, hence the name Raindrop. Generally speaking, the top quality is its square leaves and rounded tubercles. Raindrops is part of the first of a series of succulent species with “tumors” that grow in the middle of the leaf. The Raindrops leaves are rounded and spatulate with a more rounded front end. The color tends to turn red at the edges of the leaves under sufficient light.

Care Tips

Light: These plants require bright light but avoid direct sunlight most of the time so the leaves don’t get damaged.

Water: The watering method is very important to keep your Raindrops healthy. It should not sit on the water, and an excess amount of water should be avoided. The best way of watering is using the soak and dry method.

Soil: Only need to ensure that the content of granular soil is more than 50%. In general, you can use the ratio of charcoal soil, perlite and coarse river sand mixed, and then add some well-rotted organic fertilizer to the soil as a base fertilizer.

Potting: It is recommended to use ceramic pots. Ceramic pots have a certain degree of permeability. Clay pots lose water too quickly, and plastic pots tend to retain water for too long and permeability is poor.

Temperature: Suitable temperature is 50-77°F (10-25°C). General indoor temperatures are appropriate.

Humidity: Raindrops grow well in average household humidity levels when grown indoors. Normal household humidity is good for this plant.

    Care Instructions

Please visit our Succulent Care info page for more details.

To ensure the health of succulents, it is important to plant them in porous, well-draining soil. Succulents require little watering, but don't like to sit in wet soil. To create an adequate cactus mix, simply add pumice, perlite, or grit to cactus soil to provide the proper drainage.

Make sure to leave drought periods between waterings to prevent the plant from water-logging.

Deep dive into Linux Kernel Architecture
      Format: Paperback
Have you been wanting to figure out the innards of the Linux kernel without getting overwhelmed or have been working without enough context to actually understanding it, here is a fantastic book. If you are fascinated with operating systems and new to it, if you have wondered what terms like system calls, timers, threads mean and how they are developed? This book is for you. Major subsystems and features of the Linux kernel like System calls, Memory Management, Loadable Kernel Module framework, Kernel config, Virtual Address Space, Page Cache and Kernel build(for x86 and ARM) are detailed very well in the book. The delivery through both practical and theoretical focus, can meet the expectations of both professional and academic needs. When used along with Linux kernel documentation, this book is bound to provide a deeper, well structured understanding of Linux kernel architecture. Yet to complete reading the entire book and I'm sure that it will keep me interested.

      Bad book
      Format: Paperback
A book that says comprehensive guide to Linux kernel should include more information about linux kernel internals with proper examples and explanation how kernel actually work and not just very high level overview of the modules building process. Don't waste your time and money. Linux device drivers book is much much better books than this one and provide way more details than this one.

Lots of good info, easy to read
      Format: Paperback
Okay, I do need to disclose that I was one of the technical reviewers for this book, and that I'm also a fellow Packt Publishing author. Reviewing the book was a fun project, which I really enjoyed. There's a lot of good information here, and lots of hands-on projects for both x86_64 and Raspberry Pi. The author writes in a clear, concise, and conversational style that makes the material really easy to digest. If you have a good foundation of C programming knowledge and want to get into Linux kernel programming, you'll definitely want to check this book out.
