How to Care
Despite its exotic, high-end appearance, the Dragon Jade is surprisingly easy to care for. Because its thick, succulent-like leaves excel at storing water, it thrives on a predictable routine and a hands-off approach.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Ample light keeps the dense "dragon scales" growing tightly together. Avoid intense, scorching afternoon sun, which can bleach or burn the foliage.
Water: Use the "soak and dry" method. Water thoroughly only when the potting medium has dried out completely. Because the leaves hold onto moisture, it is highly drought-tolerant and deeply dislikes soggy roots.
Soil: Medium must be grown in a coarse, ultra-porous mix such as pure orchid bark, coco husks, or a heavily amended succulent mix. Excellent drainage is vital to mimic its natural tree-dwelling habitat.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity (50%+), which reflects its tropical origins. It will tolerate average home humidity, but loves a warm, bright bathroom or a regular morning misting.
