We adore the twisted, knotted trunk of this beautiful Umbrella Plant. The Umbrella Plant is a wonderfully simple-to-manage pot of style that adds a touch of the rainforest to any room in your home.  Otherwise known as the Umbrella tree plant, the variety we offer has an interestingly gnarled and braided trunk.

Emerald green leaves form clusters almost like umbrellas - hence the name!  We love the braided trunk - imagine it in its natural rainforest surroundings, it has real personality and will add interest to any sitting room or really anywhere you choose to put it.

Umbrella plant care is really easy which is why it makes a great plant if you’re not used to houseplants.  The main things are to make sure you don’t overwater and to put it in indirect light so that the leaves don’t shrivel and burn.  It will also tolerate low light - in fact, we find that they grow more slowly and become leggy in low light, which is actually a great look!

How to Grow and Care For Schefflera or Umbrella Plant

This plant is easy to care for. Follow our simple instructions below and you will have years of growth. 

Where should I put this plant?

Umbrella plants can tolerate bright but indirect light, not full sun. They will also thrive in low light.

How much should I water it?

Water only when the top 2 inches of soil are dry to the touch.  Soak through and leave to drain, then allow to dry out before watering again.

Should I feed it?

You can feed once a month during spring and summer with liquid plant food. Try our vegan, organic plant food.

What size is this plant?

W30cm x H120
