Wildflower establishment requires some important steps:
- Site selection/preparation: It's important to address competition from weeds: pull, till, or use organic herbicides. If planting in the spring/summer you can wait for weeds to germinate, control and then plant the wildflower seeds.
- Seeding: You will want to have good seed to soil contact, broadcasting by hand is a good approach on small plot, may want to mix with an inert carrier, sand or other. Raking in and covering with soil 2-3 times seed thickness.
- Watering: During establishment for the first month, can be from rain in spring or supplement with irrigation.
- Timing: The best time to plant is in spring to early summer and even again in late fall.

Perfectly hilarious summer romcom
Format: Paperback
Rules For The Summer by Meghan Quinn is a romcom you’ll want to pack in your bag to read by the pool or beach this summer. You also can’t go wrong with the audiobook narrated in duet by Stella Hunter and Shane East with Melissa Metcalf and Gary Furlong as the side characters. They were perfectly cast and had me laughing out loud as the characters found themselves in even more ridiculous situations.
The dynamic between Theo and Renley was so entertaining. I loved their game of Truth or Dare. Once they started falling for the other, they did not hold back on their spicy times.
Not only do we get the delicious tension and chemistry between Theo and Renley, but we also get a front row seat to Theo and Rupert’s friendship and their amazing banter as well as the amusing dynamic between Rupert and Renley’s aunt.

Cute story, over-the-top narration (in a bad way)
Format: Audiobook
3.5/5 This was a fun, light weekend read with some great buddy humor, a worlds-collide storyline, and the whimsical side characters that Quinn does so well. The pacing felt a little uneven at times, and I was disappointed to see the story was light on comeuppance in the end. One thing I really struggled with about the heroine was how frequently this ostensibly strong, gritty character just quit when things got difficult. If she quit everything hard until a man was there to push her not to, how can she be surprised no one took her seriously??
The thing I struggled with the most, however, was in the audio version of this book. I really love Shane East and was glad to see him narrating another Quinn book. He's so good at the "over the top" joyous man-child character, and he did this one justice. HOWEVER, how he did the intimate scenes in this book was way way way way way too over-the-top. It gave seventies porn vibes-level cheese to me, and I wound up skipping most of them.

Rules for the Summer by Meghan Quinn was the perfect mix of hilarious, emotional, and ridiculously swoony. Meghan Quinn never misses when it comes to romantic comedy, and this book had me smiling from beginning to end.
The banter between the characters was absolute perfection — witty, flirty, and laugh-out-loud funny. But underneath all the humor was a genuinely heartfelt story filled with chemistry, tension, vulnerability, and so much charm. The slow burn was done so well, and every interaction made me fall harder for the characters.
What I loved most was how effortlessly Meghan Quinn balanced comedy with emotional depth. One minute I was laughing out loud, and the next my heart was aching for them. The romance felt authentic, addictive, and completely unforgettable.
If you love summer romance, amazing chemistry, hilarious dialogue, and characters you can’t stop thinking about, Rules for the Summer is an absolute must-read. Another Meghan Quinn favorite for

In true MQ fashion, we get another great romcom, although not quite in the favorites list, but still very enjoyable. The audio is fantastic on this one. It’s Duet (full cast) narrated by Shane East & Stella Hunter with Gary Furlong & Cassandra Medcalf.
Theo is such a green flag & he waves it proudly. He’s charming & persistent in the best way. He’s supportive & ready to go to bat for those he cares for. It takes him some time to learn to go to bat for himself, but he eventually does (when it comes to standing up to his dad).
Renley is determined to make something of herself with this candy shop renovation. Although a little prickly in the beginning due to the mix-up of her looking for a financer but matching on an app actually for a fiancé, she does eventually warm up to Theo. She still holds her cards close to her chest though, but Theo is adamant to win her over.
Kitty & Rupert nearly stole the show. Kitty is a bit over the top with her antics, but Rupert had me cackling so much. They’re both chaotic & you can’t help but laugh.
I loved the Truth or Dare portions. It really bought the steam & tension. I did enjoy that it was a slow burn romance between Renley & Theo so when they finally get together, it’s quite satisfying.
All in all, it’s a really good time & I highly suggest the audio.

Probably my favorite summer rom-com ever!

Rules For The Summer by Meghan Quinn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🩷 Theo and Renley! 🩷 I cannot express how much I screamed when I was contacted by the Meghan Quinn team letting me know that I was going to be receiving this eARC! After reading this, I am now chomping at the bit to hear the audiobook! I need to hear this dialogue between Theo and Rupert and their accents so bad! Like yesterday. Theo and Rupert are big on the game of Truth or Dare and welp…this dare just may have gone a little too far. What was supposed to be all fun and games turned into Theo signing up on fiancé.com and since Theo is next in line for the lordship title, he got quite a few hits! Unfortunately for Theo, his dad (AKA Lord DHead) finds out and threatens Theo to follow through or he’s going to make Theo marry the armpit-smelling daughter of his friend. 🙊😂 Theo says NOPE and instantly finds the match he wants to make it work with. Insert Renley… Renley has just been awarded the town’s historic candy shop and it’s up to her to bring it back to all its glory. How does she end up being matched on fiancé.com? Well folks, she has a crazy aunt who told her she had the money for Renley to start renovating the shop but she doesn’t and so the aunt’s brilliant idea is to get a fincancier. One drunken night goes by and here comes Theo, proposing to Renley right there in her front yard! I LOVED the way Theo LITERALLY could not be deterred by Renley’s shut downs. How many boxes does this book check? ✅ ummm ALL OF THEM! Theo begs for just more time with Renley because he knows in his sweet little British heart that he is for sure going to win her over by the end of the summer which is his deadline. What Theo does NOT expect is to literally start falling for her and falling HARD. Renley has a hard time trusting people in general because the most important people in her life, her dad and her aunt, constantly let her down. So this girl is determined to NOT let anyone in ever again. Mmhmm. Yeah. Right. You will enjoy the banter (pfft…duh Meghan Quinn is the banter queen) and you will enjoy the spice. And once Renley starts realizing how magnetic Theo is, oh boy, do you feel the heat! 🔥🚒❤️🔥🧯 Let’s take a peak at these TROPES! ✨ 🥵Lot’s of Truth or Dare! (One scene will get you sweating! 🥵) 🥰Mix-up Meet cute 🌊Pond PDA (Super steamy!) 🍒Spicy toy time 📝Super cute note passing 🤣Laugh-out-loud moments 💙He falls first 🍭Candy shop fun 😏 🐴Hobby horse shenanigans A couple of my favorite parts (there’s so many but I’ll only list a few): “Gossy, the British are coming and you have no idea what’s about to hit you.” “Like this right here, says he’s FTD (had to put it backwards due to it being profanity) before commitment. Clearly it means he’s down to finance before fully committing.” 😂 “You can never trust someone planning to go on a walk in loafers. Absolutely not. 😂 “Are you asking me to show you how to be a real boy?” Go grab this book on May 5th!
