Philodendron 'Florida Ghost' (Philodendron 'Florida Ghost')

This extremely rare, mystical, and incredibly sought-after plant among collectors, the Philodendron 'Florida Ghost' ('Florida Ghost'), is a true wonder of the indoor plant world! It gets its "ghostly" name thanks to a magical color process – each new leaf opens completely white (or cream-white), then slowly changes to a soft mint green, and finally matures into a classic dark green. As a result, one plant simultaneously displays fantastic leaves of various shades, deeply lobed! Additional charm is added by its reddish, slightly fuzzy or "curly" leaf petioles. Since this is still a small seedling (a baby), you will have a fantastic opportunity to watch it grow, develop, and form increasingly expressive lobed leaves. It is a dynamic, climbing indoor plant that will add a luxury-level, exotic, and very unusual natural accent to any interior. It is an exclusive, joy-inducing, and impressive gift for experienced plant lovers and rarity hunters!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Bright but diffused light. Here is an important golden rule: for the new leaves to truly open white, the plant vitally needs a large amount of light! If there is too little light, the "ghost" effect will not appear and the leaves will open green. However, strictly protect it from direct, scorching midday sun rays, which will instantly burn the sensitive white leaves (which lack chlorophyll).

  • 💧 Watering: Moderate and thoughtful. Allow the top layer of soil (about 3-5 cm deep) to dry out completely between waterings. Remember – it’s better to let it dry out a bit than to overwater! The roots absolutely cannot tolerate sitting in stagnant water in the saucer, which will quickly cause rot.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature. Since this is a tropical treasure, it literally adores high air humidity! A humidifier nearby will be a great help in growing healthy leaves. Strictly protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  • 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause severe irritation of the mouth and throat, drooling, and digestive issues if chewed. Keep it safely out of reach of pets!

🏠 MOST SUITABLE LOCATION:

  • Bright living room or plant display case (as an absolute and very exclusive centerpiece of the room or collection).

  • Bright shelf (to enjoy the white leaves and their color change daily).

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 10-15 cm (seedling / baby)

  • Pot diameter: 12 cm

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen is unique. Please note: the first image shows an example of a mature plant to give you an idea of its fantastic potential and the crown’s splendor in the future, but you will receive a seedling! Seedlings initially have more arrow-shaped leaves and have not yet developed the large, deeply lobed form characteristic of a mature plant – this will develop over time as the plant matures. Important to know: 'Florida Ghost' is a liana (vine). For the plant to eventually form massive, beautiful leaves, it will definitely need a vertical support (ideally a moist moss pole where it can grow its aerial roots). When repotting, it is strictly forbidden to use regular, heavy indoor plant soil! You must use an extremely airy and loose aroid soil mix (peat substrate richly mixed with orchid bark, perlite, and coconut microchips).

Great for chemo
Flavor Name: Mint, Size: 33.8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I ended up ordering this due to hearing mouth sores occurring during chemo. Using it twice a day to keep from getting the sours and it’s working great.

Too expensive, tastes fine
I was worried based on reviews, but I think these taste fine! I don't eat a lot of candy anyway, but sometimes I just need 1-2 pieces to satisfy a sweet/sour craving. These are great since I'm on the Keto diet. They aren't overly sour for sure, but they still have some sourness to them. There's a bit of an aftertaste since they are made with sugar substitutes, but nothing terrible. My only complaint is the price. Way too expensive for the amount you get.

Not bad
The cherry tastes too much like cherry cough syrup. The grape fruit and apple aren't bad. For a no sugar candy for diabetics when you're having a craving, not bad.

I Wouldn’t Call Them Sour
Did I enjoy this candy? Absolutely. Did it meet my expectations? No. I have anxiety. I’ve heard about the technique of using a sour candy to distract from an anxiety attack. Well, I also have insulin resistance so I have been looking for a sugar-free sour candy which it turns out is a tall order. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I tasted these because they really don’t taste sour. While I enjoy the flavors (especially grapefruit) they aren’t sour. A big bummer. I do think the nutrition for this candy is awesome, though. They have a good amount of fiber and are made with xylitol which is great for oral health. Overall, I think they are pricey and not necessarily worth the cost considering they are not anything special outside of the nutritional values. Bummer!
