MaxSea is a kelp-based fertilizer that is safe for use with most carnivorous plants when diluted in concentration from the typical recipe and used as a foliar feeder (meaning you only spray it on the leaves and lightly in pitchers). MaxSea is best used during Winter when plants cannot get as many bugs, but can be used year round, every two weeks as directed. Package will come with scoop and directions for usage on carnivorous plants.

If you are looking for bugs for Winter feeding or just in general to give you plants the extra boost of nutrition, please check out our every growing Accessories section located here.

You will receive one 3" x 5" resealable craft bag containing 3 Tablespoons of fertilizer and a scoop that measures 1/4 of a teaspoon, the appropriate amount for fertilizing carnivorous plants. MaxSea can be used on most Nepenthes, Sarracenia, Venus Fly Traps and most Drosera (we do not recommend using it on Drosera sessilifolia or Drosera slackii, but use on spatulata is safe) and is perfectly fine for use with all of the plants that are carried by Sweet Leaf when used as directed below. Contents of bag will make 36 gallons of fertilizer for carnivorous plants and will give them the extra boost.

Directions for use: Tear open package and measure out one level scoop of fertilizer with the provided scoop. If you lose your scoop in the future, a level 1/4 teaspoon is perfectly safe, but we provide a scoop because it smells funny and some people don't like to use their cooking utensils for their fertilizer.

Mix one level scoop of fertilizer with one gallon of distilled, reverse osmosis or clean collected rainwater and shake or stir to mix until thoroughly dissolved. Pour mixture into a spray bottle or garden sprayer and mist the leaves of your carnivorous plants, avoiding spilling it into your potting medium and allow the plant to absorb the nutrients. Repeat this process every two weeks, being careful not to overfeed them. We recommend misting them every other weekend to help remind you of when to feed.

I’ve never loved a bar of soap so much.
Scent: Unscented
For starters, I suffer with severe sensitive skin, Eczema (which also has a huge gut health component) - however I’ve been struggling pretty bad the last few months. In my search to find more natural and nontoxic options, I stumbled upon castile soap - I’ve been using it to wash my dishes, clothes, skin. Finding out that the alkalinity of the soap can destroy sensitive skin barriers (even with diluting). I think it is been the leading cause of my skin dryness. (Despite lathering up with things like organic Shea butter and castor oil). I was getting very frustrated and very stressed and I found this family owned company. I’ve always wanted to try more tallow products, and know how amazing honey and castor oil is for health and rejuvenation (inside and out). I figured what the heck this is a pretty decent price. When I say I do not want to stop using the bar so I mean it like it is now becoming a struggle for me to get out of the shower because I want to keep blathering up because it feels so good. As a bartender and someone who hates having dirty hands - I really hate washing my hands, despite how much I feel obligated to do it. I’m contemplating bringing a bar of soap With me wherever I go so that I have good soap to use 😆. I’m about to buy some from my mom and try other products. I will update if my skin issues have subsided (in a month or so I reckon). I am getting an Eczema patch on my stomach/torso area, my inner thigh to my knee, and back of legs as well. As well as for the last month despite how much dry skin I take off my face, And how much castor oil I rub in - even with a moist appearing face - the flaky skin pokes through. I immediately felt soft skin upon using this product on my face. Normally, I would test out a small area, but with only a few ingredients I was like screw it. I ran out of soap and it’s either that or using watered down castile. Please give this a try. I cannot attest for the scented versions. Also, I saw someone say that it burned their eyes? Castile burns my eyes - this, does not. (And I probably scrub my eyes harder than I should post makeup remover - which is a balm - and just on the eyes).

Great first impression!
Scent: Unscented
This soap was delivered last night, so I used it first thing this morning. So far, I am very satisfied. It has almost no odor—which I like. It created a good lather and left my face and body feeling soft and clean, but not dry. The natural ingredients mean it’s actually good for my skin! It seems to be a great value. The only improvement I can suggest is to make the edges a little softer (more rounded) because it’s quite square to be rubbing my underarms (and other delicate areas). If new details are warranted, I’ll edit this review
