Honesty - Lunaria annua

Widely grown for their fragrant purple flowers and papery seed pods, which are used in dried flower arrangements. Also known as silver doll, dollar plant, satin flower, money plant, penny flower, moonwort, and Judas' penny. Great for planting en masse in beds, borders, open woodlands, naturalized areas, or along the edge of shrubbery where pods can catch the sunlight.

Grows 18-36" tall with hairy stems topped with ½” four-petaled purple flowers on branched clusters. Leaves are heart shaped with serrated margins

Biennial USDA zones 3-9. Plant grows out first season in preparation to send up a tall flower stalk the next. Blooms late spring to early summer for 2-3 weeks. Prefers dappled sunlight or partial shade, but also succeeds in full sun.

Sow outside: In early spring 1-2 weeks after average last frost date for blooms following year. Sow in late summer or fall for blooms the following spring
Sow inside: Not recommended. Does not transplant well. Start 2-4 weeks before last frost in biodegradable pots to reduce root disturbance.
Seed depth: barely cover
Seed spacing: 3 seeds every 12-15”
Days to emerge: 14-20 days

For dried flower arrangements cut the stems for drying just before the green color begins to fade. Tie together a bunch of stalks and hang them upside down for 2-4 weeks until dry.

Tough and lasts
Bought this toy Sept 2025. This has been my dogs favorite toy. It was hard when we bought it and he didn’t like it at first. Once he started playing with it, it became the toy of choice. It has softened a lot and loves it even more. First thing we greeted with in the morning is Dude with the yellow toy. I’m going to buy another to have if I think it gets too soft.

He loved it
Is it durable? Not at all. Did he love it? While it lasted. Our dog is a monster chewer with toys so I go into every purchase knowing we might get 8 hours out of a toy if we're lucky, depending on visible durability. We don't even buy stuffies anymore because it's just not smart. He loved the squeak while it lasted, it's large so we never have to worry about him choking on it while running/being dumb. If you have a dog that will eat pieces of things as they destroy toys, this is not the toy for them. Ours plucks it apart piece by piece, but leaves the bits near one of us (LUCKILY!). If he didn't, we'd never buy this again. The missing star is just for lack of durability. Even for a rubber toy it felt like it didn't last very long.

I highly recommend and my dog loves it
I have a 80 pound bulldog who destroys everything he gets his mouth on. He loves this toy. He has not been able to destroy it. Not even a bite mark. He has to have this with him at all times (including during zoomies). I highly recommend it

Reed review don’t really recommend
Did not last very long with my larger dog. And honesty it was destroyed in about 15 minutes completely, and when my dog was tearing it apart, the chunks were large enough for my dog to choke on, so I would highly recommend watching your dog with this toy if they decide to chew it and tear it apart, so they don’t choke so this could be a possibly dangerous toy.
