This is a very rare snow pea cultivar from the Luang Prabang region of Laos. Luang Prabang snow peas also go by the name "Maiden's Blush" due to the faint pink blushing that develops on the outside of the pods. I notice this pink blushing is more pronounced in warmer weather. It is also called a "mange tout" pea because you can eat them as a snow pea or allow the peas inside to swell and shell them out as sweet peas. The Laos region is considered sub tropical / tropical. Therefore, this snow pea cultivar handles warmer temperatures better when compared to other snow pea cultivars. It is the last of my pea crops to finally die off when the warm weather of spring arrives. Pods are very large and plants are very productive. Vines can get around 8-10FT long so make sure you grow these up a tall vertical trellis. Harvest regularly before the peas inside the pod begin to swell, which will keep the vines producing over a longer period of time.

Ideal Growing Conditions

Sun: Full sun. In hot climates, plant in a spot that gets full morning sun with afternoon shade.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist

Fertilizer: Do not fertilize nitrogen affixers like pea crops. An initial application or amendment of an organic granular fertilizer, like Espoma Garden-Tone helps boost seedling growth, but then do not fertilize again.

When & How To Sow Seeds:

Temperate climates (areas that get snow & hard freezes) - direct sow snow pea seeds when you pass your last spring frost date OR direct sow when you start planting your fall garden.

Hot climates (no snow areas) - I only recommend growing in fall. Direct sow snow pea seeds when your average high temperature has dropped to 85°F or below. The easiest way to find this for your location is to visit plantmaps.com, enter your zip code, & scroll down to the temperature chart. Look for the first month in fall where the average high dips to 85°F or below — that's your planting window. Peas planted when it is still too hot will be stunted in growth.

Germination: 7-14 days

Days To Maturity: 60-70 days after direct sowing the seed

How & When To Harvest: To harvest, pinch the pods off the vine while they are still flat and before the seeds swell inside.

Common Diseases: The most common plant diseases when growing snow peas are powdery mildew and root rot. Powdery mildew appears as a white, powdery coating on leaves and thrives in humid conditions with poor air circulation. Treat it by pruning affected areas, improving airflow, and spraying with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water. Root rot, often caused by overly wet or poorly drained soil, leads to yellowing leaves and stunted growth—prevent it by planting in well-draining soil and avoid overwatering. Practicing crop rotation and avoiding overhead watering can also help reduce the risk of disease.

Common Pests: Common pests that affect snow peas include aphids, thrips, and pea weevils. Aphids cluster on tender stems and leaves, sucking sap and spreading disease—treat them with insecticidal soap or by blasting them off with water. Thrips can cause silver streaks and distorted leaves; control them with neem oil or sticky traps. Pea weevils chew notches in leaves and can damage developing pods—hand-pick adults if visible and use row covers to prevent infestation. Regular monitoring and early intervention help keep pest damage under control.

Be aware! Once they are on, do not walk! 😂
Flavor Name: XL silicone socks 2 pairs
I absolutely love these things. But the first time I put them on in the living room. The walk to my bedroom was VERY interesting 😂😂😂 I now know I need to put them on and hang out for a bit, or simply go to bed. They do exactly what I need them to do. Feet feel great afterwards! With the right lotion, only need to use one every couple of weeks.

Transformed my feet
Flavor Name: XL silicone socks 2 pairs
After trying several other brands that actually my size did not have the luxury feeling of these. T although x large they have the BEST feel and function. I put lotion on then slip them on and within a few minutes my dry cracked heals are soft. Really a nice product.

One of the best dog toys I’ve found
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
My Great Dane puppy- at 140lbs, loves this!! We had another one that was plastic and it worked ok but this is so much better! Interactive, soft to play with, battery last a long time & he does not get bored with it. Besides is plush lamb chops, best toy ever bought for him.

Keeps my wild child busy!
Color: Orange
*UPDATE 1/10/26* Does my pup love it? Yes. 5 stars for that. His big thing is just holding it in his mouth though, and laying down with it. Then he will put it down, and as soon as it rolls away he gets up and grabs it again. He definitely requires attention from his humans when it’s turned on…kind of defeats the purpose of why I bought it! He’s a needy boy, that’s for sure, so it’s not the toy’s fault. Two improvements I’d love to see though, are 1) the ability to turn off that yappy bark. I think my dog is more excited about it moving and not so much the yapping. Not that it’s bad, but my boy doesn’t bark much so I’m used to a quieter household. And 2) when removing the base for powering off, there should be a sensor so it doesn’t keep spinning in the socket, occasionally slipping out and hitting the floor. I worry about it breaking due to this. This thing arrived today and we couldn’t wait till Christmas to give it to our high play drive Australian Shepherd. It’s been barely above zero for weeks with no end in sight, and I have cold weather asthma so I really try to limit my exposure to the elements. Needless to say, my dog has been B O R E D. He truly craves interactive play with his humans, but last week I bought a cheap r/c cat toy that really caught his attention. So I splurged on this toy and so far, it’s AWESOME. He can’t control himself when the rope starts spinning. He pounces on it and it goes spinning off and around. He keeps picking it up thinking it’ll stop, but it keeps going. After 5 minutes of play he was acting completely gassed, but he just can’t resist it, as he put it down to get a drink of water and it started spinning again. Forget the water, I need that toy! As long as this thing can handle the teeth, slobber, dirt and grime, I’ll be a repeat customer!
