Description: Munstead is one of the hardiest of lavenders and the main variety that we recommend to cold-climate gardeners looking for a perennial lavender. Highly-scented blue-green foliage gives rise to lavender-purple flowers on slender spikes. The flowers are loaded with nectar and are sought out by bees, ladybugs, and butterflies.

Organically Grown/ Heirloom/ Open Pollinated/ Non-GMO

Pack Size: 75 seeds

Latin Name: Lavandula angustifolia
Alternative Names: English lavender
Main Uses: Culinary, fragrant and oil-producing.
Zone Hardiness: Zone 3 perennial (with winter protection, sometimes listed as zone 4)
Exposure: Full sun
Height: 30 cm (12 inches)
Flower Color: Dark blue
Flowering Time: July - August, if deadheaded

Seed Source: Organically grown

Germination: 7 - 14 days at 21° C.
Pre-treatment: Store seeds in the refrigerator until ready to sow. Seeds are viable for 2 - 3 years. Chilling improves germination for lavender seeds.
Sowing: Indoors 8 weeks before planting out. Sow 3 - 5 seeds per plug cell. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from the first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant. Not suited for direct seeding outdoors, unless sown in September for early spring germination.
Planting Depth: Press firmly into the soil.
Planting Out: Plant into well-drained soil. Once established, Lavender does not require supplemental fertilizing, although the addition of eggshells or some other form of natural, slow-release lime enhances flowering and plant vigour.

Harvesting: Harvest flowers by cutting at the intersection of the flowering stalk and the second set of true leaves (before the stalk). Removing flowering will encourage more blooms.

Growing in Containers: Well-suited to containers 6 inches and up, although English Lavender will not survive the winter outdoors in containers.

Fertilizing (Containers): Feed every two weeks with general-purpose organic plant food.

Watering (Containers): Water deeply, and allow drying to the touch between waterings.

Growing in Mixed Planters: Well-suited for larger mixed planters, if treated as an annual.

Fertilizing (Garden): Lavender prefers poor (not too rich) soil. Focus on drainage and the addition of slow-release lime (egg shells / crushed sea shells).

Watering (Garden): Water deeply to establish. Once established, Lavender is quite tolerant of drought.

Beneficials Attracted to this Plant: Bees and ladybugs!

Garden Companions: Lavender is often paired with roses, and is a general companion to vegetables and other herbs. Not only does it attract pollinators, but the strong oils also have many properties that may benefit nearby plants; some of these include anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

Special Requirements for Cold Climate Gardeners: Be sure that Lavender has great drainage and lots of suns! If planning to grow as a perennial, shelter from drying winter winds is essential, as is snow cover. Consider mulching, either with loose leaves or even with an upside-down cardboard box.

Pest/Disease Issues: Lavender is very pest and disease-resistant.

Suitability for Indoors: Not suited for indoors. English lavender requires cool conditions through winter.

Epic. Works great.
Color: Black
Works great every day. Super powerful and smooth compared to my old battery powered one. The shaft is much thicker and is more securely positioned so I can't imagine it becoming tweaked off balance like my old one. And it comes with an extra mixer attachment! I imagine I've put that away for a long time, but we'll see. Easy to turn on and off with one hand, but I can imagine it being less easy than a simple push button for someone with decreased thumb dexterity or mobility. I do wish the lowest speed was slightly lower, but it hasn't caused any splashing or other detriment. The speed adjustment is very smooth and power is abundant. Love the stand, Usb c charge port is solid, battery life is excellent.

You want this one, for power and quality and saving on AA battery costs
Color: Black
Yes. You want this one, for power and quality and saving on AA battery costs — buy it now. Don’t waste any more time comparing products. After hours, days, weeks, of researching and comparing, I ordered this one. I do not regret it. It is powerful. It was less than $25 when I bought it. It has a USB charger port and it feels solid in your hand. It has a turn-knob at the top to control the variable speed immersion blender aka milk frother aka wand frother. Charge battery fully for 2hrs before first use and then you’re all set. It works very well. It functioned as expected and then even better. Yes. It exceeded expectations. I hope it lasts a long time. It feels like it is very well made and high quality. Classiest and best wand frother I have ever owned. And I’ve owned over 3-4 in the past 10yrs. I got this one at $25 instead of the highest-rated one for $9.99 because those require AA batteries and this frother however is USB-C rechargeable! So in 1-2 years it will have paid for itself in battery costs alone. But there’s no price I can put on how enjoyable it is to use this super powerful, super smooth, high quality, wand frother.

Quality Design
Color: Gray
Excellent frother/mixer Pros: - Quality feels premium. - Plenty of power to mix even with a drink packed with ice and peanut butter. Basically a mini handheld mixer. - Ease of use is great. I appreciated that this had a longer brother so I can mix drinks in taller cups. Also the grip is fantastic and it is easy very easy to change the speed with just one hand so you can hold the drink with the other. Longevity - So far it's been holding up and hasn't needed a battery replacement. Cons: None so far.

Highly recommend!
Color: Gray
Love this frother!!! Purchased to replace an Aerolatte that stopped working after a reasonable period of use. Right out of the box, it was charged and ready to go. I’ve been using it daily for about 5 weeks on the same charge it had on arrival and it’s still going strong. Love the variable speed and easy to work with one hand. And this baby can froth! It froths far better than our old Aerolatte. Also love the rechargeable feature so no more AA batteries wasted. This handy kitchen tool makes my morning coffee a true highlight. Highly recommend the Maestri milk frother!

Best Frother Ever!
Color: Black
Great little frother and very powerful after just one charge. I haven’t charged it since the first day and it is still going strong after 3 weeks. I use it daily for coffee froth, but have used it for mixing other things as well. It works great on mixing drink powders into water and for making salad dressing from scratch. It’s one of the best things I’ve purchased on Amazon for kitchen tools. My old frother ate through batteries and was 1/10th as powerful. This one really is amazing. Great quality heavy duty but still small machine. Extra attachment heads are also a bonus.
