One of our most favorite plants ~ an easy to grow perennial perfect for mass planting in your perennial border! Lovely showy flowers, each stalk bearing a spiny orange center surrounded by purple-pink drooping petals. This lovely herb is long blooming, and perfect for naturalizing in large masses, or as a specimen in your perennial or herb garden. 

This herbaceous perennial is native to meadows, prairies and wooded areas of central and southeastern US. Easy to grow in full to part shade, Echinacea purpurea is tolerant of less than perfect conditions: drought, heat, humidity and less than perfect soil.
