One of the most striking and unique species in the genus, Anthurium wendlingeri is instantly recognizable for its long, spiraling pendant inflorescences that curl like a pig’s tail. Native to the rainforests of Costa Rica and western Panama, this epiphytic species thrives in humid, shaded environments where it dangles gracefully from tree branches.
In cultivation, A. wendlingeri develops long, leathery, strap-shaped leaves with a deep green sheen, often reaching over 3 feet in length under ideal conditions. Its corkscrew-like, pig-tail inflorescences add a dramatic, sculptural element—making it a standout in any aroid collection.
