Dracaena fragrans 'Ulises'

Dracaena fragrans 'Ulises' is a cool-toned striped cane Dracaena with glossy green leaves marked by fine white to silvery lines. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, forming neat heads at the tips of slender woody canes.

Indoor plants are often grown with several canes at different heights, creating a tiered outline with foliage held above a visible stem base. As the plant matures, older leaves gradually clear from the lower stems and reveal the ringed cane beneath.

Fine silver striping on narrow leaves

  • Foliage: Narrow green leaves with fine white to silvery stripes running along the blade.
  • Stem habit: Woody cane growth with leaf clusters produced near active stem tips.
  • Mature form: Lower leaves age away slowly, exposing more cane as height develops.
  • Layered shape: Multi-cane plants create layered foliage at different heights.

Cane growth from a tropical African species

Dracaena fragrans is native to Tropical Africa, where it grows as a shrub or small tree. The cultivated cane forms used indoors keep the same basic growth pattern: woody stems carry active leaf heads, while roots prefer warmth, air and measured moisture.

Cool striped foliage, slender canes and tiered leaf heads define this cultivar indoors. As the plant settles into a bright filtered position, new leaves continue from the cane tips while older lower leaves gradually reveal the ringed stems beneath.

Care for slender striped canes

  • Light: Give bright indirect to moderate filtered light. Strong direct sun can scorch pale striping, especially after shipping.
  • Watering: Water after the upper 50–70% of the mix has dried, then drain thoroughly before returning the plant to its cover pot.
  • Substrate: Use an airy indoor mix with bark, pumice, perlite or similar mineral material to keep oxygen around the roots.
  • Temperature: Maintain 18–27 °C and keep the canes away from cold draughts, chilled floors and wet winter compost.
  • Leaf surface: Clean the narrow blades occasionally so dust does not dull the fine striping.
  • Nutrition: Feed lightly in spring and summer, then reduce fertiliser when growth slows in lower seasonal light.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots are crowded or the stems become top-heavy, using a stable container with drainage.
  • Height control: Long canes can be cut back during active growth; healthy stems may reshoot from nodes below the cut.

Early checks for 'Ulises'

  • Sudden leaf drop: Check for cold exposure, wet roots or a sharp drop in light after moving the plant.
  • Brown tips: Review water quality, dry heated air, fertiliser build-up and inconsistent watering.
  • Dull striping: Wipe the leaves and move the plant into brighter filtered light if the pattern looks muted.
  • Soft lower cane: Inspect the stem base and roots if the potting mix has stayed damp for several days.
  • Scale or mealybugs: Look along cane nodes and leaf bases, where pests can settle before leaf damage is obvious.

Placement away from pets

Dracaena fragrans 'Ulises' should be positioned away from cats and dogs that chew foliage. Ingested Dracaena leaves can cause digestive symptoms, so fallen leaves and pruned cane sections should be removed after maintenance.

Botanical name and etymology

Dracaena fragrans belongs to Asparagaceae. The genus name Dracaena is linked to Greek drakaina, meaning female dragon, and the species epithet fragrans refers to scented flowers produced by the species under suitable conditions. The cultivar name 'Ulises' identifies this fine-striped cane form.

Dracaena fragrans 'Ulises' has cool silver-green striping, slim canes and tiered foliage.

yoga socks
I’m a weirdo and don’t like to walk around barefoot. So, these help me feel like I’ve got socks on while allowing my toes to breathe. I just wear them around the house. They can work as flipflop socks for a quick trip to the mailbox. I do like to randomly hit the occasional yoga pose so the grippiness is helpful in that regard. I have wide feet and have not found the toe openings to be tight or any other fit problems. So far they have survived standard machine washing.Unfortunately, when I first tried on a pair, the material started to rip. I wear a 7-7.5 shoe size. I think these are made for smaller feet. The material is thin and doesn't stretch. The colors are pretty and it's a good price. I have to return them due to being too small. If you have smaller feet, they are worth trying.

My Favorite Style of Yoga Socks — I Love These
There are so many types of yoga socks out there, but this style is my absolute favorite. These toeless yoga socks are perfect: no individual toe slots, crew‑length coverage, and solid grippies on the bottom. I love them so much. They stay put, they feel great, and they give me the barefoot freedom I want without slipping around on the mat. Total win.

I am a girl who loves to shimmer, shine, glitz, and glow, so this Boko Highlighter Powder Spray was an absolute delight to try! It adds a gorgeous sparkling finish that really bedazzles my skin, making me feel extra glamorous whether I’m going out or just playing with my makeup. The spray is easy to apply and gives a smooth, even shimmer without feeling gritty or heavy. I’ve been using it for daily wear, as well as for little festival vibes and fun nights out, and it really catches the light beautifully. If you love sparkle and want to elevate your glow game, this is such a fun, high-quality product to add to your collection! 🌟💎✨

Classic old-fashioned presentation, versatile uses
Color: Diamond White, Color: Diamond White
I loved the presentation of this glitter in an old-fashioned atomizer perfume bottle with a pink squeeze puff. Because glitter powder is not prone to evaporation, an atomizer is actually a great way to package powder. I tried this product with the atomizer and without. Honestly, I was just looking for some sparkles on my cheekbones and a glitter streak in my hair for a New Years Party. The instructions advised that for a targeted glitter application, spray the glitter on your hand and apply it with a brush. I found that this way left too much glitter behind on my hand. Instead, I shook some glitter onto a piece of paper and mixed some with Aquaphor for application on my face. This helped the glitter adhere to my skin and lasted for hours. I mixed some glitter into hair gel and applied it to a streak in my hair. The larger pieces of silver glitter really sparkled this way. Overall, this packaging looks great and would be functional if you were looking for an all-over application. Otherwise, just using a simple bottle works as well.

Woah, Shimmer!
Color: Late Autumn, Color: Late Autumn
I love cute little things like this with the spray bulb. They’re fun gifts. My daughter likes to shimmer sometimes. She kind of overdid it the first time. It does t take much to get a sparkly, fine shimmer. The photos are a bit exaggerated on the product page. You don’t have to “paint” your skin with it. It’s an easy application, and when used right really provides a nice accent. It’s light and has a quality look and feel.
