Description: The Magnolia 'Little Gem' is a dwarf cultivar of the Southern Magnolia, characterized by its dense, compact growth habit and smaller overall size compared to the standard Southern Magnolia tree. It typically grows as a multi-stemmed shrub or small tree, reaching heights of 15 to 20 feet (4.5 to 6 meters) with a spread of 8 to 12 feet (2.4 to 3.7 meters) at maturity. The foliage is glossy green and oval-shaped, with a leathery texture, similar to that of the standard Southern Magnolia. In late spring to early summer, 'Little Gem' produces large, creamy white flowers with a sweet, lemony fragrance. The flowers are followed by cone-like seed pods that add ornamental interest to the tree.

Best Growing Zones: Magnolia 'Little Gem' is well-suited to USDA hardiness zones 7 through 10, although it can also be grown in zone 6 with protection from frost. It prefers climates with mild winters and long, hot summers, making it an excellent choice for gardens in the southeastern United States. 'Little Gem' is more cold-hardy than many other Magnolia cultivars, tolerating temperatures down to 0°F (-18°C) once established. It performs best in full sun to partial shade and requires protection from strong winds, especially in colder climates.

Soil Requirements: Magnolia 'Little Gem' prefers well-drained, acidic soil with a pH between 5.0 and 6.5. It can tolerate a variety of soil types, including clay, loam, and sandy soil, as long as it is consistently moist but not waterlogged. 'Little Gem' is relatively drought tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering, especially during dry periods, to encourage healthy growth and flowering. Applying a layer of mulch around the base of the tree helps retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.

Maintenance: Magnolia 'Little Gem' is relatively low-maintenance compared to other Magnolia varieties. It requires minimal pruning to remove dead, diseased, or crossing branches and to maintain a tidy shape. Pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. 'Little Gem' is relatively pest and disease resistant, although it may occasionally be affected by issues such as scale insects or leaf spot diseases. Regular monitoring and proper cultural practices can help prevent problems and keep the tree healthy.

Landscape Use: Magnolia 'Little Gem' is a versatile and attractive ornamental tree that adds beauty and fragrance to gardens and landscapes. Its compact size makes it suitable for small gardens, urban landscapes, or as a focal point in mixed borders. 'Little Gem' is also well-suited to use as a screening plant, privacy hedge, or espalier against a wall or fence. Its evergreen foliage provides year-round interest, while its large, fragrant flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Overall, Magnolia 'Little Gem' is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a compact, low-maintenance Magnolia variety with stunning ornamental appeal.

Durable toy for rug of war and fetch
My dog has loved these so far. She is still 5 months old but already around 25-30lbs and can usually tear up her toys pretty quickly. These have held up to tug of war, chewing, and fetch. They're durable and keep her entertained. It squeaks well and the sound is loud enough for my dog to hear and she loves it. They're a good size for small to medium sized dogs. Even large dogs under 100lbs should be good for these. I personally think a 150lb cane corse would tear right through these but I can't be sure. Overall, great quality and value for money. It comes with three so if one does get lost or damaged you have others.

Cute dog toys
This is a reasonably priced set of three dog toys in the shape of an octopus. This would make a great gift to any dog parent. The material feels soft which is appropriate for non-aggressive. The toy sizes are appropriate for small to medium to large dogs. There is a squeaker in each toy to keep your dog entertained. The toys have a fun shape and facial expression. In all three toys, the entire sock is filled with crinkle paper. My only recommendation with these toys is to mak the outer material stronger so that aggressive dogs can play with them.

An absolute hit for tug-of-war and keeping them busy!
If you have a pup that loves to thrash, toss, and carry their toys around all day, this octopus is an absolute game-changer. Why It’s Great: No Stuffing, No Mess: The absolute best feature is the lack of stuffing. If your dog manages to be determined enough to puncture it, you won't wake up to a living room looking like a snowstorm of white fluff. Great for Interactive Play: With eight crinkly, flexible legs, it’s the perfect shape for a game of tug-of-war or for your dog to violently shake and flip around to burn off energy. Engaging Textures: The combination of the soft fabric, crinkle paper sounds, and built-in squeakers keeps them thoroughly entertained and focused for more than just a few minutes. Perfect Size: It's lightweight enough for smaller and medium breeds to easily grab by a tentacle and parade around the house, but substantial enough to feel like a "real" catch. Things to Keep in Mind: While it is listed as a "chew toy," it is still a plush/fabric toy at the end of the day. If you have an aggressive power-chewer who specializes in shredding fabric, you'll still want to supervise playtime. However, for normal chewing, carrying, tossing, and thrashing, it holds up beautifully. Highly recommend for any dog owner looking to add a fun, interactive toy to the toy box!

Dog approved!
My dogs love this. This is the 3rd time I have bought them. They are entertained for hours and keeping their teeth strong. They pay me no attention when they have this toy. 😂
