For zones 3-9 Foxglove are biennials which means they will grow foliage for one season and only flower for one year. These seeds are very tiny so you can direct seed them in your garden using the shaker method
The best way we find to grow Foxglove is to sow these directly in your garden from late summer until at least two weeks before your first frost in early fall. Foxglove will not germinate when temps are 60 or below and need several days of temps in the 70's to germinate.
Work enriched garden soil 6" deep and scatter your seeds and then top with a very light dusting of compost or peat. One of the biggest mistakes made with Foxglove sowing the seeds too deep as they need light to germinate. The seeds will germinate, and develop roots over winter, and flower the following spring and summer.
If you get a late start, and want to germinate them in late fall, start them indoors in 4" pots using germination heat mats (or other heat source) to get them to germinate. Once they have their second set of leaves, and are about 2" tall, transplant them into the garden as they send down a tap root and if left in pots will become root bound and not develop correctly.
You can also start these in winter indoors about 8 weeks before your last frost in spring in 4" pots. In pots sow them on the surface of your potting material and dust with sand or vermiculite. After your last frost in the spring transplant them into your garden and they will bloom flowers a little later than fall planted Foxglove.
Finally you can also sow these in the spring directly in your garden. They will germinate, and grow, but will probably not bloom until the next spring and summer.
Once Foxglove have had a full growing season of blooming flowers they are done. They will die back at the first frost, and some will try to come back the following spring, but they will not be very productive.

Fantastic Dutch oven. VERY thick and heavy and cooks really evenly because of that.
Size: 6.0 Qt, Color: Olive
This thing is fantastic!! SUPER heavy-duty Dutch oven...it weighs almost 2x as much as my other Dutch oven which shows how thick the cast iron is beneath the enamel. It is absolutely solid and heats up nice and evenly on the stove top. The ceramic surface inside of it is really nice and fairly non-stick. I've cooked Curry and meatballs in it so far and cleanup was easy for both even though the meatballs burned a little on the bottom (I forgot to check on them and walked away). I haven't tried it with bread yet, but I can only assume it will work great for that as well because of how evenly it cooked my other foods.
This has become my favorite Dutch oven even though I have one that cost almost 2x as much. (this one is thicker, heavier, and cooks more evenly than that one). I cannot recommend it enough.

Even heating and great for sourdough.
Color: Dark Blue, Size: 6.4-Quart - Deep, Color: Dark Blue, Size: 6.4-Quart - Deep
This enameled cast iron Dutch oven is a fantastic addition to the kitchen. It is a very nice, well-constructed piece of cookware that performs exactly as it should. The heat distribution is impressively even, which eliminates hot spots and makes it great to cook in for everything from slow-simmered stews to searing meats.
One of the areas where it truly shines is baking bread. It handles the high temperatures required for a professional-style crust perfectly. The lid seals in steam effectively, which is excellent for getting that ideal rise and airy interior. It has become my go-to for making artisan loaves at home.
The enamel finish is durable and makes cleanup a breeze since food doesn't tend to stick to the surface. If you are looking for a versatile pot that transitions seamlessly from the stovetop to the oven, this is an excellent choice.
**Pros:**
* **Even heat distribution:** No hot spots while cooking or simmering.
* **Excellent for bread:** Retains heat and steam for a perfect crust.
* **Beautiful and durable:** The enamel finish is high-quality and easy to clean.

Great Product.
Color: Dark Blue, Size: 6.4-Quart - Deep
This is a great size, great value, holds heat. Made double recipe of Mac and cheese in it - brought it to a party and Mac and cheese was still warm. In glass it would have needed to be reheated.
Also- looks awesome in my kitchen.
