Rosa californica, commonly known as the California wild rose, is a native and versatile deciduous shrub found throughout the western regions of North America. This resilient plant boasts delightful pink-to-white blossoms with a slightly sweet fragrance, typically in full display during the spring and early summer. The California wild rose's vibrant flowers are a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies. After blooming, it produces attractive, spherical, and scarlet rose hips, which are a valuable food source for birds and wildlife. With its arching branches and serrated green leaves, this shrub offers an appealing appearance year-round. Its adaptability to a range of soil types and its hardy nature make it an excellent choice for both wild landscapes and gardens. Beyond its ornamental charm, the California wild rose plays an essential ecological role by providing wildlife habitat, contributing to the biodiversity of the region, and adding to the overall natural beauty of North American landscapes.  Zones 5-10

Germination

Germinating Rosa californica seeds can be a rewarding process. Scarify the seeds to break their dormancy. You can achieve this by gently nicking the seed coat with a file or sandpaper, imitating the natural wear and tear that might occur in the wild. Soak the scarified seeds in water for 24 hours to soften the seed coat. Next, plant the seeds in a well-draining potting mix, typically a blend of peat moss and sand, and sow them at a shallow depth, about 1/4 inch. Water the soil thoroughly and place the container in a sunny location with indirect sunlight. The seeds may take several weeks to several months to germinate. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, you can transplant them into your garden or chosen location, where they will grow into these lovely Arkansas rose shrubs, gracing your landscape with their beautiful pink blooms and providing sustenance for local wildlife.

Strong ball for Strong chewer!
Perfect Size. This foster pitbull likes to tear stuff up, this ball has not ended up in the garbage like so many others have.

Good Toy Reward for Training
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
A great non-food reward for dog training and play! It’s the perfect size for my German Shepherd and the tie makes it easy to carry and play tug. It’s also been very durable for her sharp teeth!

Didn’t last long
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
One of my puppies chewed the rope apart within an hour. They still have one of the balls and play with it often.

Good for playing tug of war, but better with a knotted handle
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Strong and durable rope ball. I use it to play tug with my Doberman Pinscher -- at least until she decides that she's taking it, then she does!! The size is good, list of price is a good value for two, and my dog has a lot of fun with it. As you can see in the picture, there was not a knotted handle at the end. I was never a boy scout and don't know my knots and so anything I try to tie comes apart when we start playing. It would be nice if it came as it looked in the listing: with a knotted loop at the end.

Pricey for quality but my dogs love them!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
This toy is a bit on the pricey side for what it is, and no matter how many times I try to tie it, I just cannot get it to stay secured. I really like the idea behind it, but the overall quality feels just okay rather than amazing. The ball itself is very lightweight and almost feels more like a dense foam than traditional rubber, which initially threw me off. That said, it has actually been holding up well with regular use, which is a pleasant surprise. Most importantly, my puppies absolutely love these. The biggest win for me is that it comes as a two pack, which means I can play with both dogs at the same time without anyone feeling left out. At the end of the day, my girls are happy, and that makes me happy too.
