A traditional mix of lettuce varieties that are easy to grow and has wide appeal. This attractive mix includes shades of green and bronze and offers different leaf textures. These unique multi-seeded pellets contain 5 to 7 seeds each of different lettuces for easy production or baby leaf greens in a small container. A special benefit's that the various seeds in each pellet germinate right around the same time, ensuring that maturity is even at sales time. These greens prefer a cooler climate for germination and growth, so bottom heat is not required. In a couple of weeks, baby greens are ready for sales to the home gardener. When the plants reach 6" in height, the greens can be snipped 1" above the soil line. New growth regenerates in three weeks for a continual harvest and each planting can be harvested two to three times. Sow approximately 5 to 6 pellets per 12" diameter container.

Important Germination Note:This variety is offered in multi-pelleted seed. Germination issues are common when moisture levels are not properly maintained. The water-soluble coating of these pellets takes longer to completely dissolve even when fully submerged in water. Do not attempt to dissolve the pellet within a single watering. Instead, maintain a moisture level of four to five (medium wet to saturated) from sowing until the pellet is fully dissolved. Maintain high relative humidity in the germination environment along with adequate soil moisture, exposing the seed to proper germination conditions. The use of plastic domes or regular misting is helpful in keeping the adequate moisture until the seed germinates. Once the sowing stage begins, if the pellets dry out, they become hard to dissolve. This is why we highly recommend high moisture content right from the beginning.
