Snow Angel' Sugar Heart has a particularly vibrant color and a large surface area. The color of 'Sugar Heart' may vary in intensity with the seasons. Other varieties with this characteristic include Echeveria 'Red Velvet' and Echeveria' Pure Love', among others.
How to care for Echeveria ‘Snow Angel’ Sugar Heart
Sun/Temperature: Echeveria ‘Snow Angel’ Sugar Heart prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Place the plant near a window or in an area with filtered sunlight. Avoid exposing it to intense, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as it can lead to sunburn and damage to the leaves.
This succulent thrives in moderate temperatures ranging from 65°F to 75°F. It can tolerate slightly higher or lower temperatures, but extreme heat or cold should be avoided. Protect the plant from freezing temperatures, as it is sensitive to frost.
Watering/Soil: The Echeveria ‘Snow Angel’ Sugar Heart requires well-ventilated conditions for proper care, especially during the summer. The hot and humid weather can easily lead to black rot and waterlogging. If it's wet and hot in summer, it's torture for succulents. So, never water it after sun exposure. Just imagine the situation, you will know it. And using the "soak and dry" method for watering is indeed recommended for it. You also should choose potting soil with good air and water permeability. For the care of Echeveria ‘Snow Angel’ Sugar Heart, the potting mix and soil requirements are similar to those of regular Echeveria' Snow Angel'. Propagation: Propagating through leaves is the simplest and most beginner-friendly method and the one with the highest success rate. It is highly suitable for beginners.
- Select healthy, mature leaves from the parent plant.
- Let the leaves dry and form calluses for a few days.
- Prepare a well-draining potting mix for succulents (cactus soil, perlite, and coarse sand).
- Insert the calloused end of the leaves into the potting mix, burying them about half an inch deep.
- Water the soil lightly, ensuring it is moist but not soaked. Allow the soil to dry between watering.
- Place the pot in a location with bright, indirect sunlight (avoid direct sunlight).
- Wait for several weeks or months for new roots to develop from the base of the leaves.
- Once new plantlets with rosettes and roots have formed, gently remove them from the soil.
- Transplant the new plantlets into separate containers with well-draining soil.
- Provide the newly propagated plants with bright, indirect sunlight and water sparingly, and allow the soil to dry out between watering.
