9-0-0 Corn Gluten Meal Fertilizer with Iron provides a dual-action solution for a pristine lawn. As a natural pre-emergent herbicide, corn gluten meal works by inhibiting the root development of dandelion and large crabgrass seeds before they emerge. Simultaneously, its high organic nitrogen and iron content provide sustained nutrition for deep, vigorous turf.
Ideal for early season (spring) and late season (fall) applications, this product strengthens your lawn’s natural ability to outcompete invasive weeds.
Why Choose This Product?
- Corn Gluten Efficiency: Stops dandelion and crabgrass seeds from establishing by targeting them during germination.
- Intense Green-up: The 1% iron supplement stimulates chlorophyll production for a vibrant forest-green colour.
- Dense Turf: The nitrogen boost promotes robust vegetative growth, leaving no room for future weeds to take hold.
- Natural Alternative: A corn gluten-based formula, offering an eco-friendly way to manage your lawn's health.
Directions for Use
- Crabgrass Targeting: Apply as soon as the snow melts and the soil begins to warm.
- Dandelion Targeting: Apply in late April to intercept spring germination cycles.
- Application: Spread uniformly over established lawns using a broadcast or drop spreader.
- Watering: A light watering after application helps activate the product.
Warning: Do not apply grass seed within 6 to 8 weeks of treatment, as the corn gluten will prevent new grass seeds from germinating.
Understanding the Formulation (NPK)
The 9-0-0 ratio focuses on top-growth vigour:
- Nitrogen (N): Derived from corn gluten, it ensures dense foliage and rapid recovery after winter dormancy.
- Iron (Fe): An essential complement to nitrogen, providing deep greening without causing excessive growth.
- Pre-emergent Action: Corn gluten creates a natural barrier that disrupts the weed life cycle at the seed stage.
