Description

The Olive Tree brings timeless Mediterranean beauty into your home with her slender silvery-green leaves, softly branching form, and peaceful tree-like presence. Each leaf has that beautiful muted glow olive trees are known for, creating a calm, sun-kissed feeling wherever you place her.

Native to the Mediterranean region, this lovely Olive Tree has been cherished for thousands of years as a symbol of peace, abundance, and resilience. Indoors, she grows into an elegant statement plant with a graceful upright shape that feels both earthy and refined. We love how she instantly transforms a bright corner into a little Mediterranean escape, bringing warmth, texture, and that effortless old-world charm we all adore.

Care

How do you care for an Olive Tree indoors?

Your Olive Tree thrives with very bright light, careful watering when the top few inches of soil feel dry, well-draining soil, and steady comfortable temperatures to keep her looking beautiful, healthy, and absolutely happy.

This Mediterranean beauty appreciates a sunny home and a simple, consistent care routine. Place her in your brightest window, avoid overwatering, and let her soil breathe between waterings. Think of Olive Tree care as a peaceful rhythm — plenty of light, a little patience, and not too much fuss.

How often do you water an Olive Tree?

Water your Olive Tree every 2 weeks or so, allowing the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out before watering again. She prefers a deep drink followed by time to dry, which helps keep her roots healthy and strong.

During winter months, reduce watering since growth naturally slows down. Always check the soil first — this beauty prefers being slightly dry over sitting in soggy soil.

She is very tolerant of drought.

Where do you put an Olive Tree in your house?

Your Olive Tree will be happiest in the brightest spot in your home, ideally near a south-facing window where she can enjoy several hours of direct sunlight each day. Bright light helps her keep that gorgeous silvery foliage and strong upright growth.

If your home doesn’t get enough natural light, a grow light can help her stay healthy and full. Keep her away from cold drafts, heating vents, and dark corners — she truly loves a sunny, warm, peaceful place to call home.

Is an Olive Tree high maintenance?

The Olive Tree is moderately low-maintenance as long as she receives enough bright light and isn’t overwatered. She doesn’t need constant attention, but she does appreciate consistency, sunshine, and a little extra care when adjusting to indoor life. You’ll get the perfect mix — elegant, calming, sculptural, and wonderfully rewarding once she settles into her happy place.

Does an Olive Tree need full sun?

Yes, your Olive Tree loves full sun and needs very bright light to thrive indoors. A sunny window with several hours of direct light is ideal for keeping her foliage beautiful and her growth strong. Without enough light, she may drop leaves or grow more slowly, so give her the brightest spot you have and she’ll thank you with that timeless Mediterranean charm.

What fertilizer does an Olive Tree need?

Feed your Olive Tree with balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once monthly during spring and summer growing seasons. Skip fertilizing during fall and winter when her growth naturally slows and takes a peaceful little rest during cooler months.

Can an Olive Tree tolerate heat?

Your Olive Tree handles warmth beautifully and enjoys bright, sunny conditions. She’s most comfortable in average indoor temperatures and can tolerate warmer spaces as long as she has good light, proper watering, and airflow. Just protect her from extreme indoor heat, dry blasts from vents, and sudden temperature changes for her optimal health, happiness, and growth.

Pet-friendly?

Olive Trees are generally considered pet-friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. Still, we always recommend keeping plants away from curious paws and nibbling mouths to prevent upset tummies and keep your beautiful tree looking her best.

Is an Olive Tree poisonous to cats?

Olive Trees are generally considered non-toxic to cats, making them a more pet-friendly choice for homes with feline family members. If your cat eats a large amount of leaves, though, mild digestive upset can still happen, so it’s best to keep nibbling to a minimum.

Is an Olive Tree toxic to dogs?

Olive Trees are generally considered non-toxic to dogs. Even so, curious pups may still experience mild stomach upset if they chew on too much foliage, so keeping your Olive Tree out of reach is always a good idea for everyone’s peace of mind.

Factoids

Do Olive Trees grow well indoors?

Olive Trees can grow beautifully indoors when they receive plenty of bright light and are not overwatered. They do best in sunny rooms, near large bright windows, or with the help of a grow light if natural sunlight is limited.

How long does an Olive Tree last?

With proper Olive Tree indoor care and loving attention, your plant companion can live for many years. Olive Trees are known for their longevity, making them a meaningful and lasting addition to your home and plant family.

Do Olive Trees produce olives indoors?

Indoor Olive Trees can sometimes produce olives, but it’s not guaranteed. They usually need abundant sunlight, maturity, the right conditions, and sometimes outdoor time or pollination support to fruit successfully. Even without olives, their silvery foliage and sculptural beauty make them absolutely worth growing.

Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Queen of Roses (Blood of a Fae #1) by Briar Boleyn Genre General Fiction ( Adult), Romance, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Romance “More primordial than the stars. My name was on his lips as he promised unspeakable darkness to any who came between us.” Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!! I’m a big fan of “touch her, and you die” vibes, but I mean, what’s also not to love about a unique Arthurian retelling with gender twists, a treacherous royal court, a dangerous quest, magical Fae & mystical monsters, entwined with a bit of spice! Morgan, Princess of Pendrath and true heir to the throne has spent most of her life dimming her light to feel safe and to make others comfortable. She is treated as an outcast in the court and repressed by her family due to the blood of the Fae within her and forced to join the Temple of the Three as a priestess in training to one day replace Merlin. Her brother, King Arthur, who reminds me of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, later tells her that he has other plans and offers her a choice of the Temple or to marry her off for political gain, unless… that is, she can journey through the great unknown and return with a long-lost fae weapon with enchanted powers known as Excalibur. Her quest begins with a roguish crew that includes the mysterious, arrogant, and heart-tuggingly handsome Captain of the Royal Guard, Kairos Draven, whom she can’t decide if she wants to stab or indulge in pleasure with. Along the way are plenty of surprises, mystical creatures, and betrayal, all while Morgan uncovers more of the truth about herself and who she can trust. This book had intriguing storylines and lovable characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and comes together in book 2, Court of Claws, which I just started reading!! Read if you’re into- Dark Fantasy/Romance Slow–Burn Question Everything Magic and Action Fae Arthurian Legend Stabby/Broken FFC Morally Gray MMC Forced Proximity Queen of Roses is perfect for Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas fans. Please check the trigger warnings page in the table of contents before reading this book.

3.5 stars, A little boring to say the least.
Format: Kindle
Wow so I'm not sure where to begin on this one. This was a very different take on the legend of Arthur and Excalibur. This is told from the point of view of Morgan the sister of Arthur. Honestly the first 50% of this book is world building and character building which unfortunately was super boring for me. Morgan to me was a female MC that had a hard time in believing in herself. Sometimes taking too long to understand exactly what was going on around her. Draven was also a different male MC, like I couldn't put my finger on him and what he was all about. It was not until the last 10% of the book did we get some answers on the mystery that is Draven. The other 50% of the book centered around this big journey with everyone having a different motive. We see a spark of magic around this time that had me excited but then we never expanded upon that and what it could mean for the female MC. I feel like I want to read the second book just to see where this goes, but the spice was probably a 2 out of 5. Side characters are ok, Lancelet was fun but I almost felt like I wanted more.

A bewitching retelling of Arthurian legend!
Format: Kindle
In a land where the Fae have nearly become only a legend and those who still posses even a morsel of the blood are few and far between, Morgan finds herself cast aside by most of society due to her rumored half-Fae lineage, including her brother, King Arthur. With the kingdom at the brink of war, Arthur entrusts her with a quest to retrieve a Fae weapon of legendary power: the sword of Perun, Excalibur. Accompanied by men she loathes, Captain Kairos Draven and Ragnar Whitehorn, she embarks on her long and unbeknownst perilous journey, only to find that things she once believed to be myth are in fact very real. With devastating twists, omitted truths, witty banter and fierce action, Queen of Roses leaves you begging to know more about the secrets of Aercanum! Wow, wow, wow! Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enchanting
Format: Kindle
"Queen of Roses" by Briar Boleyn is a delightful and refreshing reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur, with a captivating twist that places the spotlight on Morgan, a character who has often been overshadowed in traditional retellings. Boleyn's creative decision to shift the narrative perspective to Morgan breathes new life into the story, offering readers an intriguing and compelling look at the Arthurian world from an entirely different angle. One of the most commendable aspects of this book is its incorporation of Fae elements, which adds an enchanting layer of magic and mystery to the already familiar Arthurian setting. Boleyn skillfully weaves the world of the Fae into the narrative, creating a captivating backdrop against which the events of the story unfold. This addition not only adds depth to the world-building but also provides ample opportunities for twists and turns that keep readers thoroughly engrossed. However, while the book boasts numerous strengths, it does have one noticeable flaw: the characterization of Morgan. While it is reasonable to create a flawed and complex protagonist, it appears that at times, Morgan's character becomes overly difficult and hard to relate to. Her persistently negative perception of one of the main male characters, who is a potential love interest, despite his efforts to support and assist her, may come across as somewhat irrational and could test the patience of some readers. Striking a balance between a strong, independent character and one who can recognize genuine support and affection could have enhanced the overall reader experience. Nonetheless, the allure of "Queen of Roses" lies in its innovative approach to the Arthurian legend and its skillful blending of fantasy elements into a familiar narrative. Boleyn's evocative prose draws readers into a world where magic, destiny, and fate entwine, leaving us eager to uncover the mysteries that unfold within the pages. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An action-packed dark romantasy
Format: Kindle
I loved this book! Queen of Roses is an Arthurian-inspired dark romantasy that is the first book in the Blood of Fae series. The story follows Morgan, the princess of Camelot who is rumored to be part fae. Fueled by prejudiced hatred and a mistrust of fae blood, Morgan’s abusive father strips her of her birthright and hands it to her half-brother, Arthur. Instead of becoming queen, Morgan is commanded to join the temple of the goddesses when she comes of age. However, Arthur turns into a psychopathic, power-hungry, fae-hating king as he ages. He develops malevolent plans and commands Morgan to find an ancient weapon with legendary power. Although Morgan is wary of Arthur’s intentions, she embraces the opportunity to go on a journey and potentially change her fate. The story picks up from there and we follow Morgan on her quest to find the ancient relic. It’s full of high stakes adventure, mystery, tension, banter, forced proximity, hidden magic, self discovery, and betrayal. This first installment of the series intricately develops the world building and character development. There’s little romance in this book, but it is evident that it is a slow burn that will continue to develop throughout the remainder of the series. Overall, I loved the world building, the epic fantasy, Morgan’s journey of self discovery, and all of the twists and turns that set the stage for the future installments. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
