Why Grow Flash Collard?

Repeated Harvests of Delicious Greens Flash Collard is a smooth leaf collard variety that provides the most food per plant than anything else in your garden! Plant these in the fall and enjoy continual harvests throughout the winter months and into the following summer. Each plant can be harvested every 2-3 weeks for delicious greens that are healthy and nutritious too!

Exceptional Bolt Tolerance Flash Collard is the most bolt-tolerant collard variety we have found. They will grow well into the summer every year, becoming a mainstay in your garden for many months. One year we had a few plants survive the summer and last an entire year in our backyard garden. Just crop the bottom leaves and leave some at the top so the plants can continue to grow.

Flash Collard Growing Tips

• When to Plant Collard Greens

Collards are considered a "cool season" vegetable that grows best in the fall and early spring months. Although this variety will often make it well into the summer months without bolting, the best performance and production will come during the cooler months.

Collards can be directly sewn or transplanted in the backyard garden, although we prefer transplanting this variety. Plant seeds indoors or in a greenhouse 4-6 weeks before your intended in-ground planting date.

Collard transplants should be planted outdoors once they have a well-established root ball in their seed starting containers. Aim to put your transplants in the ground in the late summer months for a fall planting or in the late winter months for a spring planting.

Collards are extremely cold-tolerant and will grow well throughout the winter in the southern states. For gardeners in the middle or northern states, frost protection would be needed to grow them through the winter. Or you can opt for a late winter planting as temperatures are warming going into spring.

When transplanting collard plants, space them approximately 1' apart along rows or in your containers or raised beds. If directly sewing them into your garden, you can plant seeds a few inches apart and thin later. Some growers prefer to plant them thick and harvest as baby greens, while other growers prefer a full sized plant that will require 1' of space.

• How to Fertilize Collard Greens

It's always a good idea to apply some pre-plant fertilizer to the soil prior to planting collard transplants. We like to sprinkle Coop Gro organic fertilizer on our raised beds or along our rows prior to planting. This ensures the plants have the right nutrients to put down roots in their new soil.

Because collard plants are usually in your garden for several months (if not 7-8), they'll need repeated applications of fertilizer for solid production. We like to feed ours every 3-4 weeks with a liquid solution of AgroThrive General Purpose or by sprinkling Coop Gro around the base of the plants and lightly mixing it into the soil.

• When to Harvest Collard Greens

Collard greens can be harvested whenever you'd like! Some gardeners like to harvest "baby collard greens" as soon as the leaves are as big as their hands, while others prefer to wait until the leaves get larger.

When harvesting, be sure to leave 3-4 leaves on the top of the plant so it can continue to grow. Harvest the lower leaves as the plant grows and leave the top leaves for continual production throughout the cool season.

Moisturizes with simmer!
Size: 5.1 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Not a lot of shimmer, which is a good thing when putting it on, thought it was going to be overwhelming from the bottle, but not. Moisturizes all day. Smell is strong in the beginning but dissipates after a while.

Ok, so I love this oil. As a pool girlie I loved laying out and lathering this on. The smell is simply fantastic! The bottle actually caught thy eye of a few sparkle girlies too by the pool and wanted to know where I got it. For a second I felt cool so, it’s five stars for me for setting a vibe and being the cool girl at the pool, with the sparkle and the great smelling skin!

Saved my skin barrier!!
I rarely write reviews, but this product truly deserves it. I have sensitive, dry skin with mild to moderate rosacea that became even more fragile after chemotherapy. While trying to repair my skin barrier, I overdid it with actives and completely wrecked my skin — it was red, raw, burning, and peeling. I turned to ChatGPT for help, and this Avene Cicalfate+ was one of the top recommendations. I started using it about three weeks ago, and wow — the difference is incredible! My skin has healed beautifully. The redness is dramatically reduced, the irritation is gone, and my skin feels soft, smooth, and calm again. The texture is soft and luxurious without being sticky. I love that there’s no noticeable scent, which is perfect for sensitive skin. It arrived well packaged and intact. For the results it delivers, I consider it an amazing value and will absolutely repurchase again and again. If you’re on the fence about trying this, go for it — it truly rescued and revived my skin barrier. This is now a permanent part of my routine and 100% a holy grail product for me!

Hydrating and Powerful Barrier Repair Serum!💧
This serum has been life-changing in calming and restoring my skin barrier. It absorbs quickly, feels lightweight, and instantly soothes irritation without feeling greasy. I’ve noticed my skin looks healthier and more balanced after just a few uses. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and works especially well when my skin barrier feels compromised. It is also fragrance-free, which I always appreciate! Trust me, it’s well worth the money!

Works as created.
Have been using for a few weeks and have noticed 15% improvement in skin and issues. I did notice a difference in the first 24 hours as advertised. It is suggested need a full month I think to see the true results. At 50 I have pre menopausal skin issues- the redness & inflammation, acne, tightness and sensitivity. It is helping in addition to the other Avene skin products that come in the trial box for sensitive or SOS skin box trial size I think ot is called. This has made a difference. It is easy to apply. I use morning and night. It is different from the Cicalfate + Cream. I use that also as needed. I am happy and recommend it. The price is higher than what I spend. But I wanted to try it to see of i need more than just what was in the Avene sensitive skin trial size box they have. My skin is really red and irritated so the $40 for the bottle is was willing to try because it's painful on my face.
