Beccariophoenix alfredii occurs in the High Plateau of Madagascar at approximately 20 degrees south. The palm is found at an elevation of 1,050 meters (3,440 feet) growing along the sandy riverbeds. The surrounding vegetation is mainly composed of various grasses, and the area sees occasional fires. Due to the environment that B. alfredii is subjected to, it is hardy against frost and cold, fire, drought, full sun, and possibly hurricanes. This recently discovered, new Beccariophoenix originates in a humid valley west of Antsirabe on the high plateau of Madagascar, at an elevation of abt. 1000 m, where the temperatures are comparatively cool throughout the year and can drop below freezing at night in winter, making it ideal for warm temperate areas with no more than moderate freezes. The plant is quite distinct from Beccariophoenix madagascariensis. Beccariophoenix alfredii is a fairly large palm quite similar to a coconut palm and a perfect replacement for that in cooler climates where the coconut can not survive the winters. One of the best new introductions from Madagascar. Very popular and sought after because of its better cold tolerance. Due to its overall hardiness, B. alfredii is a good candidate for cultivation in central and southern Florida, California and also locations such as Sydney Australia, Southern Spain, Portugal and Northern New Zealand. Yeah, they shrink, a lot.

A Good Value

I really like these shirts and have ordered a number of them so far. They're warm and comfortable and are of overall good quality. They will shrink substantially, and the arm length will be reduced. That being said I just order them a size larger than what I typically wear and know that the sleeves will be a bit short. Otherwise they're a quality shirt. The material is thick, but not overly so, and they don't seem to fade even after numerous washes. These shirts are durable, well-made, and are a good value.

I will be buying more of these. I knew they were 100% cotton so I bought a large when I normally wear a medium. After I washed it in warm water and dried it in the dryer, it fits perfectly. The cotton is of great quality not thin and flimsy. I expect to get plenty of wear out of this t-shirt. Also, it did not fade. I recommend buying one size larger.

This pair Lee jeans, made on Mexico, fit perfect , zipper works great, 35.96 cost works for me. The pair of Smith jeans , zipper a struggle to make it work, zipper short in length, made in China, 51.62 does not work for me. You need to check quality of work from Chinese made products. 7 belt loops!

Finally Lee is making a pair of jeans with seven belt loops! And in loose fit! 50-year-old men with Dad bodies should not be wearing skinny jeans. Anyway great pair of jeans, size wise it's the same size as all the rest of my jeans. Should be good for summer work. The denim is a bit on the thinner side so I don't know how long they will last but they're good for now
