Aglaonema 'Sunray Green'

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' is a green Aglaonema cultivar with a clear lime-yellow midrib running through each leaf. The leaves stay mostly green, with the central vein providing the main colour contrast.

It grows as a compact upright clump with smooth, lance-shaped leaves held on short basal stems. Filtered light and warm, steady conditions keep the plant neat and protect the leaf surface from harsh sun.

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' foliage details

  • Leaf colour: Smooth green leaves are marked by a bright lime to yellow central vein.
  • Leaf shape: The blades are lance-shaped, softly pointed and held upright.
  • Growth habit: Basal stems build a compact, self-heading clump.
  • Central detail: The colour contrast follows the midrib from base to tip.
  • Indoor size: The plant stays neat in a pot with warm conditions and steady watering.
  • Structure: New leaves rise from the centre and keep the clump upright.

Clump development in Aglaonema 'Sunray Green'

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' keeps a tidy clumping shape as new leaves rise from the centre. The leaves sit close together, creating a full outline while the lime-yellow centre line stays visible on each blade.

The green leaf surface handles filtered indoor light well, while direct sun can scorch or bleach the tissue. Turning the pot every few weeks keeps the clump even as the leaves lean toward the strongest light source.

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' care setup

  • Water: Water thoroughly after the upper substrate begins to dry, then empty any standing runoff.
  • Light: Use medium to bright filtered indirect light; harsh sun can damage the smooth leaf surface.
  • Temperature: Keep the plant above 15°C and away from cold glass or winter draughts.
  • Substrate: Choose a loose mix with drainage particles so the roots receive moisture and air.
  • Humidity: Moderate humidity reduces dry edges on fresh leaves.
  • Feeding: Apply diluted fertilizer during active growth; overfeeding can show as brown tips.
  • Shaping: Remove yellow lower leaves cleanly at the base as the clump renews itself.

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' warning signs

  • Stretching: Very low light can make the stems longer and the clump looser.
  • Leaf scorch: Direct sun can leave pale or brown marks on the smooth green blades.
  • Yellow lower leaves: Constantly wet substrate can reduce root function and soften older leaves.
  • Brown tips: Fertilizer salts or uneven moisture can dry the ends of the leaves.
  • Cold damage: Chilled leaves may develop greyish marks that turn darker with time.

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' and plant safety

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' contains calcium oxalate crystals. Place it out of reach of pets and children, as chewed leaves can irritate the mouth and throat.

Aglaonema 'Sunray Green' forms a compact green clump with a lime-yellow line running through each leaf.

Timex Expedition Solar a no frills fine watch
Color: Brown/Blue
The watch came uncharged. I guess you're supposed to charge the watch by exposing it to sunlight. There was no sunlight and I wasn't about to wait for any. I placed it in front of one of my ultra-bright led flashlights for about 5 hours that night. It's been working fine ever since. I'll expose it to sunlight when I see some. It's a nice looking watch, no bells and whistles but it's been keeping excellent time. I swapped out the band for a NATO which I find more dependable. The price shouldn't put you in the poor house and if it's like all the other Timex watches I've owned, I'll be happy with it.

Great watch. Janky quartz. Bad strap.
Color: Brown
It’s got all the specs one could want in a field watch, but I can’t get over the janky quartz movement. The second hand overshoots and undershoots the second markers notably throughout its rotation. Also, the leather strap provided does not age well, it turns a dark brown and develops cracks in short order. Still, especially if nabbed on sale, the watch is well worth it and will probably outlive the wearer.

A nice durable non flashy field watch.
Color: Olive/Gunmetal, Color: Olive/Gunmetal
A nice looking, none flashy field watch. At 41mm it’s not too big and not too small. The sapphire crystal is a big plus on scratch resistance; and the screw in crown is a nice addition as well. If you’re looking for a low key, reliable solar powered field watch that is both comfortable, affordable and has durability built into it, this one will be hard to beat.

Keeps lousy time
Color: Silver-Tone/Black
I purchased this watch off Amazon Warehouse well below MSRP out of curiosity to see what Timex is doing in 2024. The specs are good - bead blasted stainless case, solar movement with quick set date and hacking, sapphire crystal, screwdown crown and 100m water resistance. The movement is Japanese, case and bracelet are made in China, and the watch is assembled somewhere overseas. The good - the watch is lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. Price, even at full MSRP makes this an extremely good value for what you get. It is a good looking Flieger style watch. Once fully charged it is keeping good time. Case finish is well executed and without rough or sharp edges. The bad - the lume is weak. When blasted with UV, it fades quickly and within 5 minutes it’s gone. The bracelet is low end, but expected at this price point. I swapped it out with a nice leather strap from my collection with better quality spring bars and it makes the watch look and feel higher end. The Ugly - the second hand misses nearly all the chapter ring marks. The minute and hour hands are aligned, but that second hand seems to have a mind of its own. On my watch it lines up with chapter ring marks maybe 10% of the time, but it’s not consistent. Sum up, for a sub $200 watch the specs are great and it’s a good looking comfortable watch. Just keep your expectations aligned with what you are paying for. It compares favorably to Orients & Citizens at this price, and offers better value than comparable competitors now that Seiko has gone upmarket. I like this watch. Just don’t compare it to a Swiss watch costing several times its price. Update after a few months: I’m changing my rating to 3 stars. This watch keeps lousy time! It is loosing around 5 minutes per month. And it is fully charged. I have other Solar quartz watches from Citizen, Seiko and Vaer which maintain very good accuracy. But this Timex … defeats the purpose of a solar powered “grab and go” watch when you have to correct the time each occurrence you want to wear it.
