The joys of watching a Monstera leaf slowly unfurl simply cannot be compared! Your plant will ship with mostly solid green leaves. As the plant matures, the heart shaped leaves will start to produce fenestrations or the leaf holes that give this houseplant its nickname of “Swiss Cheese”. Each leaf is unique with glossy green color and cuts or ribbons where the perforated leaves split.

Native to tropical rainforests, it is easily adaptable to indoor growing and makes lovely home decor. Growing quite large in the wild, it’s good to keep in mind that you will need some room to grow the Monstera plant indoors and have it thrive. Monstera deliciosa plants like room temperatures that stay warm and humid around 65-80 F. Feel free to mist the leaves to enhance the humidity just like it would receive in the wild. Monstera deliciosa pruning can help to keep your plant to the desired size and shape.

Growers across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 9 and up can grow this tropical plant outdoors all year long.

  • Monstera Deliciosa Light Requirements

The large leaves of mature Monstera deliciosa plants require lots of bright indirect light conditions to thrive. Luckily, having holey leaves helps the light filter through to the bottom branches and leaves. Choose a sunny window with lots of indirect light. A south or east facing window is best. Too much sun can cause leaf scorch or burn.

  • How Often to Water Monstera Deliciosa Plants?

Monsteras are quite drought tolerant once established. We recommend watering once weekly or whenever the potting soil feels dry to touch. Too much watering can cause your plant to have wet feet or root rot which isn’t recommended for optimal growth.

How Big Does Monstera Deliciosa Grow?

An outdoor monstera deliciosa size at maturity can grow up to 30 feet tall if left untamed. This is uncommon when grown as indoor house plants. Indoors, the split leaf monsteras can grow up to 4-6 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. The Monstera deliciosa growth rate is up to 1-2 feet per year. An annual application of slow release fertilizer during the active growing season will help to increase growth.

My 15lb Dachshund took this toy as a personal challenge. He heard me tell his human brother that it’s indestructible on the inside and said “hold my ball” promptly proceeding to schmurder the textile aspect of this adorable toy. I’d say it took him a total of 23 1/2 minutes to get to the center of this tootsie pop. I’m not even mad tho bc he had no interest in actually ingesting the outer part, and is totally into the inner toy, which is, for him, literally indestructible. It’s solid rubber, has a wild and fun bounce to it on multiple surfaces. Zodiac rates the squeak 10/10. It’s great especially for when I’m on a call or talking to someone in real life and can’t immediately throw said toy or pay complete attention to him. In conclusion: Your dog will probably love it, ((suggest to just keep an eye on them during the schmurder process and make sure you grab all the pieces that come off so none are swallowed)) Depending on your tolerance for squeaker pitch and frequency of squeak, it's a 4/10 in annoyance mostly bc it’s not a long drawn out squeak ((I can not tolerate those toys, they get “lost on top on my fridge” until I get up the courage to throw them out without him seeing)), it’s quick and requires a bit of effort to produce the sound however it’s a very high pitch squeak so it’s all up to your preference. I personally try to buy toys I can tolerate my dog loving on bc when he gets a new toy, it’s his favorite thing for a long time, like, it sleeps on the bed with us for the first month. Hope your fur child loves this as much as mine did. Not sure I’ll do the whole two in one toy thing again only he got through it so fast.

Take the skin off and get the right size for your dog’s weight!
