Plains Prickly Pear Cactus 'Snowball' (Opuntia polyacantha x rhodantha) is a very rare prickly pear from the polyacantha (Plains cactus) family. It is a unique variety that has a medium to large size pads, and a bushy but also compact and clean growing habit! Springtime blooms feature beautiful large bright white colored flowers with centers that eventually fade into a soft yellow color! This is one of our hardier species and has been growing completely unprotected for many years in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b, repeatedly seeing temps below -15 degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -20 degrees F!! Planting instructions are included!
