Growing Notes
Sow on the surface and press into the soil in flats indoors 12 weeks before your last spring frost. Germination requires darkness. Cover with newspaper or cardboard to block light; keep at room temperature. Check daily and mist to keep moist. When seedlings emerge, place under grow lights for 14 hrs/day. Option to pinch back growth tips when young if getting leggy and to promote branching. Harden off and transplant outdoors after danger of frost. Option to stake to prevent lodging. Prefers cool weather. Full sun; in hot areas partial shade in afternoon. Moderate even water.
