Growing Tips

Thyme can be difficult to start from seeds because of uneven germination and sensitivity to growing conditions. Once you’ve started plants, it is best to take cuttings and transplant to increase your crops.

Plant your cuttings or transplant your starts any time after the ground temperatures reach 70°F. Make sure to plant your Thyme between 9-12” apart in rows.

We recommend to companion plant your Thyme with cabbage or tomatoes.

Culinary Uses

Thyme is another herb that is commonly found in many Mediterranean cuisines. Use it to season soups, braises, or sauces. You can also use it in potatoes and rice dishes, or even with vegetables and fresh bread recipes.

Harvesting Crops

We recommend that you harvest your Thyme just before it blooms for the most flavor. Cut stems just before a growth node and wrap in bunches to dry and use for seasoning.

If stems are cut before the growth node, this will encourage the plant to continue bushing and provide an ample supply of fresh thyme all season long.

We have found that harvesting thyme in the morning is the best for flavor.

Harvesting Seed

Allow thyme to fully mature and produce seed heads. As the seed heads mature, they will begin to dry out. Pick the seed heads off the plant and allow them to dry out of direct sunlight. Thrush the seeds in your hands to remove the seed. Store in a cool, dry place.

Tough
Color: Medium size (5.9")
So far my dog hasn’t destroyed it! And it’s been a month. So I call that a win. Plus he loves it.

Great play and chew toy!
Pattern Name: Star
The dogs love these! They're sturdy and give them plenty of chew time. The size is great and they are very playable. The dogs have a lot of fun and the weight is just enough for our little dogs.

Great Dane Tested and Approved 5 Star
Pattern Name: Checkered, Pattern Name: Checkered
A picture is worth a thousand words applies to this product, as you will see in the attached photos these stand up to the abuse of a Great Dane. He has dragged me around the yard for hours already with this in his mouth and the stretchy handle keeps it shape. This ball is a little firmer than others of these I have had in the past, which helps exercise his giant jaw. I could get a few weeks out of the other brands I have bought. This brand is still like new well past the time others have failed. I will be ordering more as my French Mastiff is interested in one of his own (the boys do not like to share toys - most dog guardians understand).

Holding up well.
Pattern Name: Checkered
Seems to be holding up to my aggressive chewer. I have it hanging from a tree branch and she loves leaping to get it! Buying another pair so she has a greater selection around the backyard.
