While remaining small in potted form, it may sprout a brief bloom stalk with a striking bright pink flower. These wide, flattened flowers open in the afternoon and close at night.

The white filaments found in the center of the Anacampseros rufescens plant aid in its ability to withstand droughts by capturing water vapor from the atmosphere. This particular succulent requires slightly more watering than other succulents, and its leaves will become wrinkled when it needs hydration.
