Sansevieria robusta, also known as the Robust Snake Plant, is a succulent plant that is known for its air-purifying abilities. It is a hardy plant with tall, strong, deep green leaves that can grow up to 2.5 feet long and one inch wide, with silver accents and yellow edges. NASA has recommended this plant as one of the best for improving indoor air quality by absorbing toxins.
Here are some tips for caring for Sansevieria robusta:
Light: This plant can thrive in any light condition, including low light, but prefers a partly shaded, warm location
Water: Water well, but allow the soil to dry out between waterings, especially in the winter when the plant will use less water. You can water as little as once a month in the winter or when in low light, but water more during the growing season or in brighter light
Temperature: Keep the plant in temperatures between 40º and 85ºF (4.4 to 29.4 C)
Humidity: This plant is tolerant of low humidity, so it doesn't need to be misted
Fertilizer: During the summer, you can feed the plant every month with a diluted general purpose fertilizer
Sansevieria robusta is also reported to be potentially dangerous to cats and dogs, as chewing or ingestion can cause vomiting and diarrhea.
