Its popularity, naturally, has led to a fair share of memes, riffs, salutes, and celebrations, including a now-iconic musical motif from one of today’s premier popstars. Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” features a groovy baseline that plays off the main theme from Plants vs. Zombies; a fitting match, given the track’s eerie playfulness, a spirit well alive in PvZ

Here at iam8bit, we love a great tribute. Even more, we love a tribute-tag-back, where the respect for great artists flows in a fully-formed circle. It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So, when we teamed up with the incredible folks at PopCap Games and EA Games for our Plants vs. Zombies 2xLP, a brainy idea emerged: Why not release a new single that nods to Billie’s iconic song?

This is the Plants vs. Zombies: Bad Zombies 7”. It features a brand-new, never-before-heard single performed by The String Revolution featuring Tina Guo, aptly titled “Bad Zombies.” You’ve got to hear it.

For something so amazing, we had to go all out. That’s why it comes pressed on Eco-Purple vinyl and features a special zoetrope center label that all but comes alive while it spins. That eco-friendly vinyl is all recycled, so it’s good for the plants. It also means that there will be some very groovy variation for every disc; no two colors will be completely the same.

For the album art, we worked with Sean Keeton to pay homage to the cover of Billie’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” And to ensure it’s got that signature PvZ flare, it even glows in the dark!

Folks, this one’s special. Don’t miss it.

Stalin's Dialectical and Historical Materialism is Reviewed
The English language edition of this pamphlet was first published by International Publishers. I first purchased this pamphlet in about 1977. pamphlet was actually printed in 1973.

definitive and final statement
This is the definitive and final statement on marxian dialectical materialism. The best concise exposition that has been written on the subject.

I'd recommend it, especially at this give-away-price
As a sociologist, I was always interested as to how the USSR could morph what Marx considered communalism networked by a shallow, weak, centralized and supposedly representative government into what I would considered an extremest left-wing oligarchy (most fashionably consider it right-wing despite how it was sold and supported by the people that allowed it- so much for cultural relativity and in context social analysis!). If Stalin actually wrote these pieces (or more commonly among dictators farmed it out to a frightened academic ghostwriter) then it could help explain why Marx disassociated himself with much of the Marxist movement toward the end of his life. It is a logically written and well informed book - worth the read if you are into the sociology of politics, philosophy of politics or the history of politics. I'd recommend it, especially at this give-away-price!

Good book, mediocre edition
Format: Paperback
This review pertains to the quality of this edition's editing and construction, rather than the content of the book itself. Rest assured that the text itself remains a valuable piece of introductory theory. The book is fairly well constructed, with paper and a binding that is sturdy enough for general use. However, my copy had several manufacturing errors including folded over pages being stuck into the binding. In addition, there are several misspelled words throughout the text and some obvious typos (missing letters, incorrect capitalization and punctuation) that did not majorly impact the readability of the text, but were, nevertheless, annoying. Considering the low price of this edition the manufacturing errors are hardly a big deal, but I would have preferred the text itself to have been treated with more care and respect while being prepared for printing.

thoughts on Xi Jinping
Format: Kindle
This book was highly organized and very easy to comprehend. I have formed a much better understanding of Xi Jinping and where he is taking China. Although I feel he has been thoughtful and successful in some areas such as improving China economically, I don’t feel his autocratic approach will succeed in the long run when more Chinese people will demand to be heard. Just as Mao thought didn’t outlast Mao, Xi thought will not outlast Xi.
