Bold orange-red flowers with serious garden impact.

Sombrero Salsa Red Coneflower produces vivid scarlet-red to spicy orange-red flowers that bring a bold, fiery look to sunny borders and pollinator gardens. The overlapping petals surround prominent orange-brown cones, giving each bloom a full, high-color appearance that stands out from a distance. This is a great choice for homeowners who want the toughness of Echinacea with a brighter, hotter flower color than traditional purple coneflowers.

Compact growth with sturdy upright stems.

Echinacea Sombrero Salsa Red has a compact, well-branched habit that fits beautifully into smaller gardens, front-to-middle borders, patio containers, and mixed perennial plantings. The sturdy stems help the flowers stay upright without needing staking, while the dark green foliage keeps the plant looking full and polished. Use it with ornamental grasses, salvia, catmint, yarrow, coreopsis, black-eyed Susans, bee balm, and Russian sage for a sunny garden with strong color and movement.

A pollinator favorite from summer into fall.

Sombrero Salsa Red Coneflower attracts butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators during the summer bloom season. Its bright flowers are easy for pollinators to find, and planting several together creates a stronger visual display and more useful nectar source. After bloom, leaving some seed heads standing can add winter texture and provide food for birds, especially finches.

Tough, drought-tolerant, and deer-resistant.

Once established, Sombrero Salsa Red Echinacea is a low-maintenance perennial that handles full sun, heat, and dry spells well. It performs best in well-drained soil and average garden conditions, without needing heavy fertilizer or constant watering. It is also considered deer resistant in many landscapes, making it a practical option for homeowners who want bold flower color with better-than-average browsing resistance.

Excellent for borders, containers, and cut flowers.

Use Sombrero Salsa Red Coneflower in sunny borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, prairie-style plantings, and containers where its compact habit and strong red flowers can shine. The blooms are also useful for fresh-cut arrangements, especially when paired with yellow, purple, blue, white, and grass-textured companion plants. Deadheading can encourage a cleaner look and additional bloom, while leaving some late-season cones supports birds and adds natural winter interest.

This book really helps organize a process that is inherently chaotic
Format: Kindle
I'm working on a series of novels about a world of talking animals that grows up after humans die out from complications of climate change. Every species has its own culture. I got through the first book and well into the second before I realized that I needed some way to codify all the cultural details. I had lots of ideas, but no way to organize them, and as I moved towards the third book of the series, which would require creating seven or eight whole cultures, I was feeling overwhelmed. Creating Life and the free templates the author provides as a download are proving to be very useful tool. I look forward to reading the other two books in this series, too.

An excellent book
Format: Kindle
I am a new fantasy fiction writer, and the detail of this book really helped me out very much. As I was searching Amazon for a book on this topic, this was one of the few that stood out. The author also offers continuous lessons on world building through his free newsletter, which I also find helpful. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Randy. L.M. Montes

Both books in this series are worthwhile reference sources
Format: Kindle
Great books--I got both this one and Creating Places. I simply stumbled upon both books online when looking for something about plotting, and I bought them both, and am glad I did. I'm a fairly experienced writer in literary genres, but fantasy/sci-fi are different. The first book I got, Creating Places, was immediately useful as I was creating a land ringed with tall mountains, and I wondered about rainfall--this book answered my question about how mountains effect rainfall! It's not like you couldn't look some of this stuff up in other ways, but having it all in one place was very useful to me. This one still had tips I was interested in, but I agree with the reviewer who noted it did feel like it was more about world building for world building's sake (at least in this book). Plenty of things didn't apply to what I'm writing, but if you use these as a handy reference--rather than a "how to" book, I still think there is a lot of use here. (Plus, when I bought it, the book was under $3, so I figured why not?)

A lot to think on!
Format: Kindle
I've been world building for several years now and thought I'd pick up this book just to see someone else's thoughts. This book really brought up some fun points I've skipped and gave me a lot of tools, can't wait to read the next one!

Very useful resource
Format: Paperback
I reference this book often when creating new characters, monsters and even animals and plants. The book has lots of interesting and useful tips and insights that I've found very useful. Its also organized in a manner that is easy to just go to the sections you need.
