"He put before them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and rest in its branches." -Matthew 13:31-32
Jesus' parables are one of the ways Jesus trains his disciples. The parables, like the sermon on the mount, have always been crucial for the church to imagine the kind of community it is called to be. We discover again and again that Jesus' parables significance points to everyday life. The parables are meant to be lived.
The original audience may have been perplexed by this story. They would have known that no-one would intentionally plant a mustard shrub. In fact, the Jewish Mishnah forbade the growing of mustard seeds in the garden because they were 'useless annoying weeds'. In the Hebrew Scriptures the "birds of the air" can be a reference to Gentiles/Non-Jews, the foreigner. This parable suggests that the kingdom of heaven is available to everyone. Even those who may be considered outsiders or not "Worthy". Jesus is calling us to see the significance in the insignificant. The parables of the kingdom of heaven make clear that the kingdom of heaven is not "up there". Through the parables Jesus is teaching us to "be for the world the material reality of the kingdom of heaven brought down to earth." As Jesus is himself the parable of the father so the church is meant to be the parable of Christ. A people in space and time welcoming the outcast, the foreigner, and the stranger. These kind of communities will look like unwanted weeds to the world, or even to other christians. However, this may be exactly the church Jesus is asking us to embody.

Size down.
Size: 8 Long, Color: Iced Blue Light Wash
They are high stretch so I would size down from your usual size. I have bought size 10 in their brand and noticed the two previous I've purchased before this one were loose. So when I purchased this one I sized down and they fit good to me. I got long so they are LONG. And the regular would probably fit at your ankle or above. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was bc I don’t feel it mid rise to me it feels like high rise but I don’t feel them uncomfortable and also THEY ARE NOT SKINNY JEANS. They are straight leg and a tad bit loose so if you want stretch and skinny jeans these are not the ones for you. I only bought them thinking they were like the picture but it’s false advertisement.

Amazon Essentials Women's High Stretch Jeans
Size: 14, Color: Iced Blue Light Wash
Amazon Essentials Women's High Stretch Jeans receives positive reviews from me for their significant stretch, comfort, and flattering fit. The jeans are great for everyday wear, they feel soft and thick yet move well. Although some folks find sizing inconsistent, occasionally needing to size up or experiencing a slightly odd fit in certain areas. They're praised for looking good, offering good value, and being versatile enough for various occasions. Sizing can be hit-or-miss for some, but not for me.

These Are NOT Skinny Jeans.
Size: 18, Color: Medium Blue
Unfortunately, I'm having to return mine. I purchased these expecting to receive skinny jeans and these are not skinny jeans. These are a relaxed fit, straight leg jean. I'm not too sure about the stretch because they were so big in the leg, I couldn't really tell how well they do stretch. They feel like a nice quality jean other than the fit and they're comfortable around the waist.

Weird garbage
Size: 12 Long, Color: Iced Blue Light Wash
Very strange fit, saw the reviews about weird fit but so many others said great fit so that's on me. Got them for under 10 bucks so hard to complain..... however..... Got 12 Long. They are at least a size too big but I generally do that to accommodate shrinking especially length. On what planet these would be considered long I dunno. I'm only 5'8". If you pull them up to where crotch is not sagging, barely to my ankles. Almost long enough if you want the crotch to droop several inches. Fit loose but comfortable in butt and thighs. The waist however is about 4 inches too big and gaps horribly. Almost like waist is actually wider than hips. Strange. Not skinny cut except for right at ankle. The left leg inseam is cut horribly crooked and runs down almost front of leg so altering them is not worth the trouble. They are fairly thick and do stretch, like the denim wash very much. So disappointed. So the great deal I thought I was getting was garbage . Should have know for that price they were unloading their trash
