Why Choose Clover + Chicory for Your Deer Plots?

As a whitetail hunter or land manager, you know the frustration of sparse deer activity or plots that fizzle out fast. You’re not just planting seeds - you’re building a legacy of healthier herds, stronger bucks, and stories shared around the campfire with family and friends. Pure Whitetail’s Clover + Chicory Food Plot Seed is your go-to solution for creating nutrient-rich, low-maintenance plots that deer can’t resist. Unlike filler-heavy blends that disappoint, this premium mix combines high-protein clover (ladino and red varieties) with resilient chicory to deliver forage that thrives 3–5 years, even in tough conditions like shaded woods or clay-heavy soils. Backed by hunter testimonials and trail cam data showing 2x more deer visits than standard grasses, it’s a conservation-focused choice for ethical stewards like you who prioritize sustainable habitats without sacrificing results.

This blend is engineered for ease, requiring no heavy equipment - just scatter, rake, and let nature do the rest. Whether you’re prepping a micro-plot on a 10-acre lease or enhancing a public land funnel, Clover + Chicory sprouts in 7–10 days, offering quick attraction for spring or fall planting. Its drought-tolerant roots and high palatability keep deer returning, supporting your goals of robust wildlife and confident harvests. Want to amplify your setup? Integrate with Sweet Tooth Deer Mineral for year-round nutrition or pair with Josh’s Mock Scrape Package to create irresistible hotspots during rut season. Learn more about plot strategies in our Ultimate Guide to Food Plots for Deer Hunting.

Key Benefits for Hunters and Stewards:

  • Rapid Growth: Sprouts in 7–10 days, ideal for quick fall setups or spring prep, ensuring deer hit your plots fast.
  • High-Protein Nutrition: 30%+ protein fuels antler growth and herd vitality, supporting ethical land management.
  • No-Till Simplicity: Plants in shaded woods or open fields without heavy tilling—perfect for busy hunters balancing work and family.
  • Long-Lasting Impact: Perennial blend thrives 3–5 years, reducing replanting costs and fostering sustainable habitats.
  • Deer-Friendly and Ethical: Non-GMO, free of noxious weeds, aligning with your conservation values for healthier ecosystems.

Use Cases by Region and Season:

Clover + Chicory is versatile for diverse U.S. hunting grounds, addressing the needs of land managers from the Midwest to the South. In spring (March - May), plant in shaded areas near bedding zones to establish early forage, drawing does and fawns for herd health - Midwest stewards report stronger populations after one season. For fall (August - October), scatter near travel corridors or mock scrape sites to amplify rut attraction, as Southern hunters note 2x more buck visits when paired with Spellbound Power Dust. Its adaptability to clay, loam, or sandy soils makes it ideal for small plots (¼ acre per 5 lbs) or larger leases, ensuring consistent results without the hassle of heavy equipment. Public land hunters love its throw-and-grow ease, fitting tight schedules while maintaining ethical practices.

Ingredient Breakdown and Nutrition Impact:

Our Clover + Chicory blend is a premium mix of ladino clover, red clover, and chicory, chosen for their high palatability and nutritional punch. Ladino clover offers 25–35% protein, supporting antler development and doe lactation, while red clover extends plot life with deep roots. Chicory adds drought resistance and mineral-rich leaves, attracting deer even in late winter. Unlike competitor blends with filler grains like rye, our non-GMO formula ensures every seed contributes to deer health - no fluff, just results. Trail cams show deer grazing these plots 2–3x more than standard mixes, validating their appeal for conservation-focused hunters. For optimal nutrition, complement with Sweet Tooth to provide calcium and phosphorus, boosting herd resilience year-round.

How to Plant for Maximum Deer Attraction:

  1. Choose the Right Spot: Select high-traffic areas like field edges or near bedding zones—link with mock scrapes for synergy.
  2. Prepare the Site: Clear debris and lightly rake soil; no tilling needed for this throw-and-grow blend.
  3. Broadcast Evenly: Spread 5 lbs per ¼ acre for dense coverage, ensuring uniform sprouting.
  4. Water and Monitor: Lightly water post-planting; expect sprouts in 7–14 days, with peak attraction by week 3.

This was more than I expected...
Format: Kindle
So...I finished this book at nearly 2am! It was just that hard to put down. I loved that it's set in the same world as Fates Hollow but in the future. Poor Pandora has been through so much but there's light at the end of the tunnel for her. She finally meets her dad and it turns out he's amazing. In order to help her learn about demon society and how to control her magic he sends her to the Demon Reform Academy. There she meets 2 awesome demons who help her and care for her. She also sadly meets her 3 tormentors. I will say though that while they do bully Pandora they also rescue her several times and defend her. They too have traumatizing pasts and can't see the good that is in front of them. Of course demon society needs to be shaken up too since that's part of the problem. I really enjoyed this read. I teared up a few times throughout the book but I liked the characters and that ending...well it looks like 3 in denial are going to need to grovel hard.

MUST READ BOOK!!
Format: Kindle
I was in a huge reading slump, when one of my favorite authors recommended this book in her readers group (The amazing Marie Mistry 🫶) and I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Now I’m in the club crying about having to wait until December for Term 2! This book is about a girl named Pandora who has suffered a life that nobody would ever wish to have. This book is about Pandora learning how to live, learning about herself and what she really wants. She has a long journey to find out all of these things, but she took the first steps in this book and it was beautiful to read. Some of the men in this book are our dream men, Hunter and Reed 😍 and then we have the men who need some work and who we all really just want to beat up until they admit what they really feel, Skel, Bram and Dexter. But that cliffy was a killer and I absolutely cannot wait until the next book!! You have written an absolute dream of a book Lyra and I eagerly await the next installment in this series!!!

Addicting!
Format: Kindle
I could not stop reading. It was so refreshing to have a series start so completely different than most fated mates/fantasy academy rh I’ve been reading. From the desert scenery to the magic and feeding plus the psychological trauma the characters are there to deal with. Pandora is absolutely adorable and I totally relate to hiding behind my hair. I love that she’s literally the most scary type of demon but it’s not the usual “badass mc” persona (which I do love a badass that can fend for herself and kick ass from the start but it was a nice change of pace). I’m not usually a big fan of bully within the harem but each character has their reasons for their actions and also conflicting feelings about them. I adore Dex and Reed! Complete opposites but their personalities and inner monologues made them instant favs. I can’t wait to see the character growth with the guys and continued strength for Pandora. The captivating characters and references to the Fate Hallow series added so much depth and now I need another reread while I wait for book 2. The concept of magic and the unique feeding habits of the demon characters were intriguing. I can't wait for the next book to continue this thrilling journey. In summary, this book is a must-read for fantasy and magic academy rh fans. With its enchanting characters, nods to the Fate Hallow series, and imaginative concepts, it offers an immersive reading experience that hwill leave you craving for more.

Best academy I've read this year
Format: Kindle
I need a few things when it comes to a first book of a PNR romance series 1-Good world building (which this totally did) 2-An FMC I can root for (oh hell yes, Pandora is someone I can cheer for) 3-Good drama (can you say GROVEL BOYS!) 4-Enough story to make you feel like you really read something with meat (you saw this book is like 600 pages, yeah?) 5-A hook at the end so I want more! (please, Lyra, gimmie more?!? I need more!!) Be aware this book is a slow burn, but damn do I feel like there'll be some big payoff when it finally happens. Who doesn't like the buildup?

Pandora’s Pain, Power, and Passion
Format: Kindle
I absolutely love this new world Lyra Winters has created! The spin on a Demon Academy setting was fresh, unique, and completely addictive. Pandora is a character who immediately captured my heart. Thought to be powerless and enduring years of brutal abuse from her mother, it’s no surprise that her powers emerge at the exact moment she needs them most. After her mother’s death, Pandora discovers her father is none other than Death himself, a soul eater with a dark legacy. Her journey at the academy is anything but easy, filled with challenges tied to her father’s infamous reputation, her barely controlled abilities, and the cruelty of those around her. Pandora is easy to root for, you feel every ounce of her pain, resilience, and growth. Along the way she meets Reed, a half-human dream demon who’s kind, steady, and the kind of friend everyone wishes they had. There’s also Hunter, a vengeance demon and counselor connected to her father, who adds another intriguing layer to her story. Then there are the bullies: Dexter, a brooding shadow demon; Bram, a chaos demon with a drinking problem and deep hatred for demon nobility; and Skel, a fear demon wrestling with his own darkness. They might hurt her, but they also can’t seem to stay away when she’s in danger, making for some deliciously complicated dynamics. This book hits so many of my favorite tropes: friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and of course, the irresistible “who hurt you?” storyline. I devoured it, and I’m already diving straight into book two!
