Nettles (Urtica sp.) are prevalent throughout most parts of the world. In North America or Europe, the most prolific variety is the species Urtica dioica, which most people refer to as stinging or common nettle. The plant literally stings when touched, causing contact dermatitis – although nettle has a rich ethnobotanical history of being intentionally used in this manner). More commonly, the plants are harvested with protective gloves and then dried or cooked, which renders the stingers inert and ready for use as a nutrient rich tea or food. The dormant stalks can also be harvested and used to make relatively strong cordage.

These plants thrive in riparian zones and under the dappled shade of forest canopies, where I’ve seen them reach nearly two meters in height. However, I’ve also seen them happily thrive on lawns in rainier and colder climates. When we first started them in our farm’s Mediterranean climate, there was some skepticism about whether they could actually thrive here. (I’d only seen the much stubbier annual Urtica urens, which is a common farm weed and has a poor, straw-like flavor). However, we’ve now successfully established stands under full sun – although note, they do need substantial water to survive extremely hot summers. (Quin)

120 days from seed to establish a stand with harvest potential. Nettle is perennial and has a rhizomatic growth habit. Can be propagated via cuttings, but also think about a containment strategy once established. We trim the edges of our stand back with a weed eater to prevent it from spreading to unwanted places on the farm.

Light material, good made quality. Nice colors fit TTS. Wished it had the built in underwear. Comfortable to wear. Material vents well in the heat.

Great, comfortable athletic wear. As comfortable as boxers.
Fit Type: 7" Inseam, Size: Large, Color: Olive
These are my new favorite shorts. The fabric is durable, but light and breathable. The waistband is comfortable, and the drawstrings are good quality. I like the zippers on the pockets, which are also good quality, and are easy to grasp thanks to a rubber coating. There's also no static cling with these shorts, like what I get from the polyester shorts from wallyworld. If I had to nitpick, it would be concerning the design/fit of the front of the shorts. There's no pleat, or crotch, and this creates a slight "poochy" look, this also makes them more roomy, and easy to move around in though as well. I liked them enough to buy 4 more pair, and that's all you need to know. They wash well, and don't shrink.

Must have! Buy in every color
Fit Type: 7" Inseam, Size: Large, Color: Green Camo
Great shorts for the price. The quality comfort and size are all great! We were surprised with how well made these are for the cost and my husband ended up getting multiple pair in different colors. We have only had them for a week or so now so I’m not sure how durable they are long term but from the feel, they seem as they will last. Zipper pockets are the best part as he is active and also likes having zipped pockets when traveling, coaching, etc.

Super baggy
Fit Type: 7" Inseam, Size: X-Large, Color: Dusty Blue
Light weight and nice thin material. These things are super baggy and make you look funny. I wouldn’t wear them in public.

Great shorts.
Fit Type: 7" Inseam, Size: Large, Color: Dark Grey
Great shorts for working out in. They’re nice and light and I like how the pockets have zippers. I purchased blue ones first and I liked them so much. I ordered the gray ones.
