The Spiral Peruvian Apple Cactus is an arborescent, or treelike growing, cactus that forms numerous tall, ascending, columnar stems that branch at the base in a candelabra-like arrangement. Not tolerant of the cold so make sure they are not exposed to freezing temperatures. In colder winter climates, they make excellent & interesting indoor/outdoor house plants. Once mature, they are heavy bloomers followed by large purple fruits are easily produced when flowers are cross-pollinated. Individuals are self-sterile. They bloom but produce no fruit.
