Spearmint Herb

(1,000 Seeds)

Spearmint is an ancient heirloom that originates  from much of Europe. These herbs were introduced into North America in the late 1500's. The plants are fragrant and flavorful, like that of Peppermint. The leaves and oils are used to flavor toothpastes, candies, breath mints and most of all, chewing gum! Growing to a mature height of roughly 2 feet tall, Spearmint will display dozens of bright green, attractive leaves, which are deeply veined. The flowers are pink to purple in color and bloom through the summer months.

Peppermint Herb

(1,000 Seeds)

Peppermint is an ancient heirloom that dates back to as early as 1500 B.C. The herb is thought to have originated from North Africa and the Mediterranean, introduced as a natural hybrid cross, between both spearmint and water mint. Its strong scented leaves are crushed and used to flavor chewing gum, breath mints and teas. They are also used in all sorts of shampoos, conditioners, toothpastes and skincare products as well. The plants grow to a mature height of roughly 2 feet tall, displaying dozens of 1 to 2 inch, shiny, bumpy leaves. The stems are red colored and smooth, while its blooms are a light pink to purple.

Pennyroyal Mint Herb

(1,000 Seeds)

Pennyroyal Mint, like Peppermint & Spearmint, can be invasive through vigorous growth habits. The plants grow to a mature height of roughly 12 inches tall, displaying dozens of small, green colored leaves. These plants are attractive and aromatic, giving off the Mint like scent of a spearmint plant. Pennyroyal Mint is not only a herb, but also an attractive flowering plant as well. The mauve to purple colored blooms will develop and bloom through the summer months, attracting an array of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees & honeybees.

Lemon Mint Herb

(500 Seeds)

Lemon Mint is an attractive flower, just as much as it is a fragrant herb. These plants grow to a mature height of roughly 12 to 24 inches tall, displaying beautiful lavender colored blooms along its erect stems. The leaves are slender and green, placed underneath the clusters of lemon scented, 2 inch blooms. Lemon Mint is known to attract all sorts of beneficial insects to the garden, such as bumblebees, honeybees, butterflies and hummingbirds as well. They are a popular pick in most butterfly gardens and insectaries. The citrus flavored leaves can be minced and added to flavor teas and fruit jellies.

Good book for children, an abundance of information
Format: Paperback
This book is ideally for children who will be traveling to London. It's very packed with information and places to visit, almost to an overwhelming way. The book starts with a fill-in section for children to fill out who's traveling and how they're getting there. It follows with some information and history of London, including a mention of Hamleys Toy Store (I wished they had put more about Hamley's in there -- it's one of the largest toy stores in the world!). It delves into how you could get around in London-- by Bus, Tube or Taxis. It continues with the array of tourist attractions that you can visit in London, starting with Buckingham Palace. The list includes the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the Gherkin, the House of Parliament, and Trafalgar Square. It mentions the numerous theme parks, zoos and aquarium that you could visit. For children that enjoy a real scare, the book mentions the London Gundeon and London Bridge Experience, which could actually be too scary for children (there are actors there with mock-chainsaws that chase you!). Towers the end, it informs you about the London Eye -- essentially, a large version of a Ferris Wheel. I would say that this should go towards the beginning of the book because it should be one of the first things done to better see where everything lays out in the city. The book mentions shopping spots, including Oxford Street, Bond Street, Knightsbridge, Covent Garden, Carnaby Street, and Piccadilly. I had wished they mentioned the Camden Markets -- where there is great street food and you can bargain for your souvenirs. Camden was an essential part to my shopping list. The book also mentions the numerous museums and theaters that London have. It's impossible to mention all of them, but it hits the children-focused ones. The book tries to involve the children in the abundance of information it has. Like I said, it's almost overwhelming, but London itself is quite overwhelming. There's no way to be able to inform anyone of London without this much information, so this book is manageable and great for children. They could have focused a bit more on some items, but then they'd leave out other items. It did a good job trying to level out the fight of quantity vs quality amongst the tourist attractions mentioned. *** I have received this item at a discounted rate for my honest, detailed review. ***
