Argyreia nervosa is a perennial climbing vine native to the Indian subcontinent and introduced to numerous areas worldwide, including Hawaii, Africa, and the Caribbean.
Germination Guide (indoor)
- Nick the seeds slightly with a craft knife first and soak them for 24 hours.
- Sow individually in small pots of moist compost (ideally 50% vermiculite or horticultural sand)
- Keep moist in a warm place but out of direct sunlight
- Seeds should germinate in 3-6 weeks.
- Pot on as required. Do not use high-nitrogen fertiliser as encourages leaf growth rather than flowers. Use rose fertiliser instead.
- In northern climates or where there are frosts, lift the tubers and store inside over winter as you would with dahlias.
Olly's General Guide to Seed Sowing!
I love sowing seeds and it runs in the family - dad, grandad and finally my great-grandad for whom the hobby helped him get over his experiences in the Great War. I still get a big kick when I see the first seedling poking through from a new plant that I have never sown before or been successful at. However, even the most experienced gardeners draw "blanks" from time to time. Whilst I sow all the seeds that I sell so I know that they are viable, some are trickier than others and problems can arise so here are some tips to make "blanks" few and far between:
1) Dont Rush! Tempting though it is when that packet arrives in the post to simply bung the seeds in some compost!
2) Google and Youtube are your friends! Take some time so see the methods other people use to germinate the seed.
3) Think Nature! What conditions do seeds face? For example a seed from a tropical plant will fall to the warm, wet and dark jungle floor. A seed from the mountains of Europe will fall to the floor in Autumn, then have to endure months of freezing temperatures before germinating in the spring. So as growers, what we are trying to do is to simulate the conditions that the seeds will naturally experience and there are plenty of tricks that can be done to short cut the processes somewhat.
4) Good compost pays dividends . The best investment you can make is to purchase three bags - one of potting compost, one of vermiculite and one of horticultural sand. With these three bags I can make up whatever soil type a particular seed likes (although for most seeds I find a 50/50 mix of compost and vermiculite works just fine)
5) Rot is your enemy. The single biggest danger to seed germination is rot - either before or after "damping off" the seeds germinate. To reduce the risk, ensure you have good free draining soil mix and that it is moist but not wet. Unless the seed variety absolutely requires it I prefer NOT to cover my seeds trays with plastic bags, Whilst germination is often faster this way, it greatly increases the risk of rot. I prefer to place my seed trans inside a watertight plastic tray and water from the bottom - airflow over the surface reduces the risk.

Have used the frother 5 days in a row. It comes already charged. Fingers crossed no issues when I eventually have to charge it.
I love everything about it. It’s worth a little bit of extra money as you can control the blending power from slow to fast. Easily held with both hands to coordinate. Today for a change I elected to just add a touch of bourbon caramel syrup to my oat milk -an excellent choice!
They give you two attachments which is helpful. I’m not hard on my kitchen appliances but it’s good to know I have an immediate back up if needed. I rinse frother attachment out immediately in a cup of warm water and air dry on a towel. At this point, I highly recommend.
My next adventure in the kitchen will be Matcha tea. I will use the bamboo whisk for the actual tea. If I decide to add oat milk to the top,(such as for a cold latte) I will use this frother.

High quality overall, very high powered. It looks really fancy and elegant. The adjustable speed knob on the top is really great. The stand looks really nice but isn't the best design because it is easy to knock over when you take it out, that's my only issue with it.

I love it!

This thing works great! It holds a charge for a long time. I love that it has different attachments. I use it mainly for mixing powder into my drinks. It is very powerful. The speed is adjustable too. It feels good to hold too. It lights up when you squeeze the trigger and when it starts losing charge, the light bar gets shorter. I highly recommend it.

Rechargeable, lightweight, variable speeds and optional whisks all make this the perfect item for your kitchen. You can quickly froth milk for your coffees, whip a small batch of whip cream, and even make mug cakes with the hook attachment. The price is very compatible with the competitors, but the ease of use makes this a top choice.
The variable speeds makes it much better to control than the push button ones. When you let go of the pressure switch it turns off, no need for a dedicated on-off switch. Having the pressure switch on the top makes it extremely easy to use! It fits very comfortably in the hand and with the metal stand, looks quite nice on the counter, ready to use at any time.
