Anigozanthos manglesii

The Red and Green Kangaroo Paws provide superb contrast with their waxy red and green flowers, and are easy to grow and reliable. Plant them en-masse for a unique floral display or combine with differing varieties of Kangaroo Paws for brilliant effect.

We recommend the use of Wildflower Seed Starter Granules for improved germination rates and speed. These granules provide chemicals normally found in bushfire smoke that stimulate native seed germination.

Plant Height: 1m

If ‘Ink Disease’ (black spots on leaves) appears, spray plants with a fungicide and reduce watering. Always water around roots, not into the body of the plant.

How To Grow
Sow in warm areas at any time. In colder climates wait until the danger of frost is over. Fill 10cm (4”) pots with a moist quality seed raising mix. Sow one seed flat on its side in each pot and cover with soil mix to the thickness of the seed. It is beneficial to add Mr Fothergill’s Wildflower Seed Starter granules to soil surface. Water, and then keep evenly moist. Cover the pots with clear polythene to preserve moisture and warmth – remove when germination starts. Place in a warm shaded position to germinate fully.

Transplant when plants about 20cm (8”) high, spacing plants 8-10 m (26-33’) apart. Use a light application of natural or slow release fertiliser when planting out. Grow in full sun and well-drained sandy soil.

Water in well and then regularly until established. Seedlings emerge 1-3 weeks.

When To Plant
All year round except in hottest or coldest weather. In colder climates, wait until the danger of frost is over.

Flowering
Flowers throughout the year.

When to Sow/Plant
Spring, Summer, Autumn

150 seeds.

Great and important translation
Format: Hardcover
I've seen a few interviews with the author and now having the book, I can confirm that this is both an important and comprehensive effort at translating the original text into English, revising previous efforts and taking much more of the cultural context into account. If you wish to understand this important text's place in the history of Western esoteric writing, then I highly recommend this translation!

Jewel of my occult studies library
Format: Hardcover
Excellent academic translation of an ancient Latin text. If you are a student of occult history, this is the book you want. If you are a practicing magician, maybe not so much. This book made me a fan of Dan Attrell’s no-nonsense approach to magical history. No vague implications of wisdom from before recorded history here, just translation from actual historical text.
