Cylindrical Snake Plant or "African Spear" (Sansevieria cylindrica / Dracaena angolensis)

This extremely modern and architectural Cylindrical Snake Plant (recently botanically renamed Dracaena angolensis) is a true champion of resilience and an icon of minimalist design. It stands out with its smooth, firm, and vertical spear-shaped leaves, adorned with fine grayish-green stripes. Thanks to its ability to survive in almost any conditions, this is a legendary "indestructible" and air-purifying houseplant that will add an ascetic, sculptural, and modern accent to any interior. It is an absolutely perfect and carefree gift for plant beginners, very busy people, and offices!

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • ☀️ Light: Diffused light, partial shade, or even direct sunlight. This plant is extremely adaptable! Although it grows fastest and most beautifully in a bright spot with indirect sun, it will also tolerate darker corners of a room without complaint (growth will just slow down significantly there).

  • 💧 Watering: Very rare. The snake plant is a succulent that stores large water reserves in its thick leaves. Allow the soil to dry out completely and thoroughly (down to the bottom of the pot) between waterings. Important: the only way to actually kill this plant is to overwater it and let it sit in standing water! In winter months, watering can be reduced to as little as once a month.

  • 🌡️ Temperature/Humidity: Thrives at standard room temperature and literally loves normal, dry indoor air. It must not be misted, and humidity from showers is not necessary. Protect it from prolonged cold and frost (temperature should not drop below 10°C).

  • 🐾 Pets: Not pet-friendly. The plant is toxic to cats and dogs. Its leaves contain saponins, which cause digestive irritation, nausea, and vomiting if chewed.

🏠 BEST ROOM:

  • Bright desk or office (thanks to the compact 9 cm pot, this 20 cm tall plant is an excellent and unobtrusive desk companion).

  • Bedroom (snake plants are famous for absorbing toxins and releasing oxygen even at night!).

  • Living room or hallway (as a modern, vertical design element that requires minimal attention).

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Height: 20 cm

  • Pot diameter: 9 cm

⚠️ Note: Plants are living organisms, so each specimen may differ slightly from the one shown in the picture. It is important to remember that this is a very slow-growing plant. The tips of its cylindrical leaves naturally tend to dry out and become sharp in the wild – this is a completely normal process and a protective mechanism of the plant. Sometimes these snake plants are found braided in stores, but their natural growth habit is to stretch straight upwards or slightly fan-shaped!

Our dogs hurt their mouths chewing these bones
Color: Purple & Blue
I don't do a lot of reviews because I realize many are objective opinions. However, in this case I felt it was necessary to warn others. Our dogs are aggressive chewers. Their last rubber bones (not these) which we've purchased before, and recently purchased again, were destroyed quickly. Chunks of rubber came off the ends. Since those didn't hold up like they used to, I found these harder bones hoping they would last longer. They were able to gnaw into the hard plastic within a few minutes. This created sharp edges that cut their mouths. When I saw a bit of blood on the bones, I took them away from the dogs and threw them away. I wondered why they quit chewing on them after being so excited at first. Also, these are hard enough to damage a tooth.
