Pinkie magnolia tree seeds offer the chance to grow one of spring's most stunning flowering trees from seed—a rewarding project for patient gardeners. This 2-pack provides 20 seeds total (2 packets × 10 seeds each). Magnolias require cold stratification before sowing and may take 1–2 years to produce first blooms, but the fragrant pink flowers are worth the wait.

There's a particular magic to magnolias blooming in early spring—those large, fragrant pink flowers appearing before the leaves, as if the tree simply couldn't wait. Growing a magnolia from seed takes patience, but this 2-pack of Pinkie magnolia seeds (20 seeds total) gives you multiple chances at success. The seeds require cold stratification to break dormancy, mimicking a natural winter. Start them indoors, transplant carefully, and in a few years you'll have a tree that stops neighbors mid-walk.

Key Benefits

  • 2 packs × 10 seeds = 20 Pinkie magnolia seeds total
  • Stunning pink blooms in early spring
  • Fragrant flowers attract pollinators
  • Cold stratification required – 90 days refrigerated
  • Slow-growing tree – patience rewarded with decades of beauty
  • Grows 15–25 ft tall at maturity

How to Grow

  1. Cold stratify: place seeds in moist sand/peat, refrigerate 90 days
  2. After stratification, sow 1/2 inch deep in seed-starting mix
  3. Keep moist at 65–75°F; germination takes 30–60+ days
  4. Transplant seedlings to larger pots after 2–3 true leaves develop
  5. Plant outdoors in partial shade with well-draining acidic soil
  6. Protect young trees from harsh winter; mulch root zone

Specifications

Quantity: 20 seeds (2 packs × 10). Type: Pinkie magnolia. Mature height: 15–25 ft. Sun: Full sun to partial shade. Soil: Acidic, well-draining. Hardiness: Zones 5–9. Stratification: Required (90 days cold).

Care & Storage

Store seeds in refrigerator until ready to stratify. Magnolia seeds lose viability quickly at room temperature. Begin stratification within 1–2 months of receiving.

Key Terms

  • Cold stratification — Process of exposing seeds to cold and moisture to break dormancy
  • Deciduous — Trees that lose leaves in winter; magnolias bloom before new leaves emerge
  • Acidic soil — Soil with pH below 7; magnolias prefer pH 5.5–6.5

Years from now, you'll stand under a tree you grew from a seed smaller than your thumbnail—and the first spring bloom will feel like a quiet triumph.

Good Food
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have had South African Billtong before and I loved it, so I thought I would try SA Droewars and see if they were as satisfying. The answer is yes! They are delicious and nothing like your typical mass marketed jerky snacks sold in the US. Droewars are lightly seasoned beef jerky sticks and, although I have not seen the numbers, they seem to be only lightly salted (important for me). The meat is not chewy or grisly, so the beef cuts they use must be prime. This is the first time I have tried the Ayoba-Yo brand and I am happy with my purchase. I am awaiting delivery of several varieties of Billtong from Ayoba-Yo presently and I will report back. Not inexpensive, but the value is there for sure. Jimmy

Almost not edible
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 3), Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 3)
I am south african, an afrikaaner. I grew up eating droewors and biltong. I'm not sure what went wrong with this product. I have to believe it was off quality product and not what they are choosing to ship. The flavor was ok. Nothing spectacular. Thr big issue was texture of the droewors and the fact that the meat had shrunk away from the casing leaving the casing inedible. See my pic. This is not what droeworse looks like. Also, being from south africa I've never heard anyone say the word ayoba....

Great taste. Unusual flavor but still good. It was a very dry texture. I do want to try another flavor.

Meh
Flavor Name: Traditional, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 3)
It’s just okay. I’ve been looking for something that is as close to possible as dry wors in South Africa. This is not it. Is it dry wors? Yes. But is it good dry wors? No; it is very average. I wouldn’t buy it again. I’ll have to keep on searching for that yummy, moist, soft, flavorful dry wors that seems so elusive on this side of the pond.
