About Echeveria 'Cinderella'

Born from imaginative hybridization, 'Cinderella' evokes a storybook transformation with its delicate beauty. While not found in wild landscapes, this cultivar channels the grace of Mexican echeverias, evolving through selective cultivation into a living emblem of ethereal charm. Forms poised rosettes (5–7" wide) with elegantly recurved leaves, resembling a poised ballgown skirt. Mature specimens develop a subtle stem, elevating the rosette like a jeweled centerpiece. Young leaves blush soft peach-apricot at their heart, gently fading to misty lavender-blue at the tips. Under bright light and cool nights, margins ignite with a crimson-pink glow, while a protective silver-powder coating (farina) adds moonlit radiance. In late spring, slender coral-hued stalks emerge, dangling clusters of tangerine-orange, bell-shaped blooms—a vibrant encore to its subtle foliage.

How to care for Echeveria 'Cinderella'

Sunlight: Echeveria 'Cinderella' reveals it full magic with morning sunlight and bright afternoon shade. Direct midday exposure risks farina damage, while insufficient light softens her colors and causes elongation. An east-facing garden spot or sun-dappled windowsill creates her ideal stage.

Water: Water only after the soil has fully dried through its depth, then irrigate deeply with immediate drainage. During winter dormancy (temperatures below 50°F/10°C), reduce watering frequency significantly, ensuring the roots remain just hydrated. Preserve the farina by watering soil directly.

Temperature: Sweet Spot: 60–75°F (15–24°C) encourages vibrant hues. Below 55°F (13°C), crimson margins intensify dramatically. Brief exposure to 28°F (–2°C) is possible if soil remains parched and frost is avoided. Above 85°F (30°C), provide airflow and light shade; rosettes may tighten slightly but retain elegance.

Pot & Soil: Select a breathable terracotta pot with ample drainage, paired with an airy substrate (equal parts cactus soil, pumice, and coarse sand). Repot biennially in early spring to refresh nutrients.

Fertilizer: Supplement monthly during active growth (spring/early autumn) with quarter-strength, low-nitrogen fertilizer (e.g., 3-6-6 formulation). Halt feeding in peak summer and winter.

Pest & Disease: Farina naturally repels pests. For occasional mealybug intrusions, dab with alcohol-soaked cotton swabs. Prevent crown rot by ensuring swift water runoff.

Propagation: Leaf propagation offers the most reliable path. Select healthy lower leaves, allow 4 days for callusing, then nestle onto dry gritty medium. Offsets emerge sparingly at maturity.

Bright and way cooler than standard whip lights!!
I got these for our Jeep as a cool accessory. We installed them and wow are they bright!!! Out on the trails at night it looks like there are two towers of light following the jeep, it is neat. They install easily and include everything needed for the installation. All the hardware is well built and sealed to last in the conditions that you would expect these to be used in, hot, dusty, sandy, cold and wet. The housings are all aluminum and sealed from the elements. The connections to the lights are insert and then screw connector to seal, that way the connections don’t get corroded and fail. Everyone we have seen has asked about them and have really been impressed with the brightness of the light and quality of the craftsmanship. The only thing that I would say is a negative is the remote control, it is small and I am afraid I am going to lose it in the Jeep so I can’t imagine how it would be in an open-air vehicle, but there are ways to keep track of it. Because the whip lights are not standard flailing sticks, they do not get caught on branches or have the potential for the sprint to break while out on the trail. I am happy with the purchase even if they were a little expensive, the convenience and attractive looks made a huge difference.
