Botanical Name: Philodendron erubescens 'Imperial Red'

Native Region/Environment: Central and South America

Sun/Light: Bright indirect light or direct morning sun.

Temperature: Indoor House plant minimum temperature of 65 of degrees, Outdoors USDA Hardiness Zone 11-12.

Water: Allow top of soil to dry between watering, slightly drought tolerant.  Better to thoroughly moisten the soil and let it dry to the touch than to water frequently in small amount that may create dry pockets in the soil.

Soil: Organically rich and porous soil composition.

Growth Pattern: Self heading species, meaning that it grows in a compact upright manner on a single stem, where the leaf nodes are closely spaced and the large, heart shape leaves virtually cover the stem from view.  This is as opposed to a vining grower.

Mature Size: 3'-5' tall, and fills out to a similar width upon maturity.

Attributes: Known for its brilliantly colored new foliage provided sufficient light, the leaves will mature to burgundy hues and ultimately into deep glossy olive green leaves.

Pot: 4"

Philodendron 'Imperial Red' is one of the hundreds of varieties that are self-heading philodendrons, meaning that grow upright on a thick stem that is virtually invisible due to the dense leaf spacing.  In turn, that means they grow in a compact manner though they likely are not a compact mature sized plant.  Most will require some space and a larger pot as well.

Philodendrons have seen a massive increase in interest the last few years but keep in mind these have been staple tropical vibe plants since the Victorian era.

All philodendron species are natural air purifiers removing formaldehyde, benzene and other VOC's common in indoor air.

This plant may have a degree of toxicity that may cause illness or discomfort if ingested.  It is grown and sold for Ornamental purposes and not intended as a food nor fodder.  Additionally, contact with the sap of this plant may cause irritation or discomfort.

Step by Step
Format: Kindle
This series of books has step by step instructions that are easy to follow. There are lots of pictures to verify you are doing things correctly. I have done three books in this series so far (Foundations, Beginner, and Platform). Before starting the books, I had some coding background, but no experience with Unity. Each book covers a manageable amount of information. There is so much to learn, but the author does well to stick to key points to not make the reader feel overwhelmed.

Seriously needs a proofreader
Format: Paperback
The content in this series is good, but the presentation is in need of a proofreader. There are so many typos and wrong words (ignoring that it's UK English). It's like the author typed what he heard in his head, but the words are something different. For example, a section introduces the "Package Manager," which is then inconsistently called the "Packet Manager." Or "research term" instead of "search term." Or "PlayGround" in the text when it's clearly "playground" in the figure. Even the provided resources are misspelled: "Sdandard Assets" in the code and the screenshots in the book. How does this go unnoticed? Programming isn't tolerant of these things.

Great Beginner's book.
Format: Kindle
I really like Pat's approach to learn Unity. I'm working my way through his books, just finish this one (second in the series). I've tried to learn Unity in the past and fail and now I know why. Pat's walks you from the beginning, you learn how to build games from a blank canvas and putting all pieces together. It's a step by step approach so you are never wondering how to get to a certain stage. If you are new to Unity and Programming strongly suggest you starting with book 1 "foundation" and then move to this one.

A Great Start for Beginners That Encourages by Eliminating Ambiguity
Format: Kindle
Everyone has their own learning curve to overcome at their own time, however, the concise instructions in this book leaves very little for the individual to be stumped on and while moving on to more complex lessons the book is formatted in such a way that referencing older topics can be done quickly. As a beginner myself, having only completed a few tutorials before this series, would definitely recommend both the Foundations and Beginner works to those looking to take on the challenge of teaching themselves the intricacies of Unity.
