What does Humic Acid do for plants?
Humic acid performs six critical functions simultaneously. Firstly, it chelates locked soil nutrients — iron, zinc, manganese — making them directly available to roots. Secondly, it stimulates root hair elongation and increases root biomass by 30–40%. Thirdly, it improves cation exchange capacity (CEC) — soil holds more nutrients for longer. Fourthly, it breaks up hard compacted soil for better root penetration. Fifthly, it activates beneficial soil microorganisms for long-term fertility. Sixthly, it improves seed germination rate and seedling establishment uniformity.
Which is better — NPK or humic acid?
NPK and humic acid serve different purposes and work best together. NPK provides nutrients while Humiking potassium humate ensures those nutrients reach plant roots instead of being locked or wasted. Furthermore, applying Humiking with NPK improves nutrient uptake efficiency by 30–50% — meaning farmers get better results from the same fertilizer investment. Therefore, Humiking does not replace NPK — it makes NPK work better.
How to improve soil quality naturally in India?
Apply Humiking 40% potassium humate at 500 g–1 kg per acre as soil application before sowing. Furthermore, continue with drip irrigation or foliar spray at 1–2 ml per litre every 15–20 days. Humiking breaks up compacted soil, unlocks locked nutrients, feeds beneficial soil microbes, and improves water retention — restoring natural soil fertility at the lowest cost available for Indian farmers.
When should you apply humic acid for best results?
| Application Timing | Method | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-sowing | Soil drench or broadcast | Soil preparation and nutrient unlocking |
| At transplanting | Root dip or soil drench | Reduces transplant shock, fast establishment |
| Vegetative stage | Drip irrigation or foliar | Faster growth and nutrient absorption |
| Flowering stage | Foliar spray | Improved flowering and fruit setting |
| Fruiting stage | Drip or soil drench | Better fruit size and quality |
