GENERAL SEEDLING MIX BioGro Orchid Mix

Ideal for Cymbidium orchids. A blend of grades formulated to suit a variety of orchid seedlings and bromeliads.

It is ideally suited for beginners or small orchid collections.

Composted Pine Bark

 Ideal for cymbidiums.

General Care for Cymbidiums:

Select a well-ventilated, bright location (avoid areas directly under trees) and a position that is shielded from hot winds and afternoon sun. A shade house is the ideal location, utilising 50% shade cloth coverage.

Grow cymbidiums off the ground by positioning them on bricks or frames. This will ensure correct drainage and keep pests from entering your pots.

Watering & Fertilising Cymbidiums:

Watering cymbidiums is best done in the mornings. Water the orchid regularly and keep it moist, but not wet.

Cymbidiums are best fertilised with a controlled-release fertiliser as well as a regular application of a soluble fertiliser.

Once a year, applying dolomite lime to the orchid medium helps increase its pH and provides a better growing environment, ensuring a healthier root system.

Potting or Potting On Cymbidium Orchids.

Cymbidium orchids are epiphytes and do not grow well in garden soils. They grow best in graded bark mixtures that provide the perfect air and moisture balance to establish a healthy root system.

  • If your orchids are overcrowded in the pot and the sides of the pot are restricting growth, or the orchid did not produce flowers in the previous season, then look at dividing and re-potting

  • If water is not flowing through the drainage holes after irrigation, then re-pot the orchid, as they do not like 'wet feet'

  • The best time to repot or divide a Cymbidium orchid is shortly after the plant has finished flowering.

Before potting or repotting, try to keep the orchid on the drier side, as this will make it easier to remove from its existing pot.

  1. Select the correct grade of bark for your pot size and stage of growth

  2.  Remove the plant from the pot without disturbing the roots

  3. Place the plant into a larger pot and, if possible, position the plant so that the back bulb is touching the edge of the new pot and the foliage bulbs are facing towards the middle of the pot

  4. Fill the pot with the new orchid bark, leaving approximately 2cm of space below the rim of the pot. Do not press the bark down as this will cause compaction

  5. Add a teaspoon of controlled-release fertiliser around the plant on top of the surface

  6. Label the orchid and affix it to a suitable stake

  7. Water the newly potted orchid

Dividing Cymbidium Orchids:
  1. Remove the plant from the old pot and shake off the old bark & compost

  2. Firmly twist the orchid and break apart into about 2-3 clumps. Try to have one back bulb and four or more growing bulbs. Cymbidiums don't like to be separated entirely, as this will delay their flowering for a season or so

  3. Gently tease the roots apart and discard any that naturally fall off during this process. If you discover any spongy bulbs, remove and discard & apply a fungicide if necessary

  4. Select the correct grade of bark for your pot size and stage of growth

  5. Continue as Point 5 above

Solid design, long lasting, healthy surface for cooking
Size: 11-Piece Set
I bought this exact set in 2021. I am buying more. With the number of reports about the dangers of pans made with non stick coating I decided i would only use cast iron or stainless steel going forward. These are “amazon brand” but I can say after years of use and abuse they are standing the test of time. Multiple moves, toddlers, rough use and they are all fully functional and work great. I LOVE the teardrop handles. It makes it so easy to hold the handle and the hanging holes on the handles are large allowing you to hang it more places on more things you may already have set up in your kitchen. I think anyone who is looking to get away from cheap, chemically pans off the rack should look at this set!! I have 4 years of proof they are not junk but a great long lasting items that seem to be well made. Higher price than buying a $10 pan at walmart but you get so many pots and pans with lids that will last a lifetime. You can also use stainless steel to cook in the oven so more functionality than most pans and pots you buy of the rack. You will just need to learn how to cook with stainless steel pans (check YouTube lots of instruction there).

Very pretty cookware
Size: 11-Piece Set
This is nice quality cookware for a great price. I have seen cooking shows that tell how to cook in stainless steel without it sticking. Unfortunately, my food still sticks. If I use a lot of oil, it isn’t so bad. One cooking show host says if you get it real hot before you add the oil, it won’t stick. It sticks. I am trying to get away from using Teflon because they say we have a lot of Teflon in our bodies from our cookware. I still go back to my Teflon a lot. But the cookware is very pretty, a nice weight, and cleans up fairly easily. I do soak the skillet before I clean it. I don’t have to do a lot of scrubbing. The sauce pans are great.

Cooks well, cleans easily
Size: 15-Piece Set
Bought this to replace old nonstick cookware. Looks good and not too heavy. Pot handles are cool enough to hold near the ends but tend to warm up close to the pot itself. Using on a gas range – heat spreads quickly and cooks. Best on low heat. Some sticking problems with food like cereal, lower heat advised. Glass lids are very handy with steam outlet. Have not used all of them yet, but they store and stack easily and I was looking for a good size stock pot and this should suffice. Not as heavy as other stainless steel cookware. Price reasonable for the number of pieces included. So far I am very pleased with this purchase.

Heat up well before use for "non-stick".
Size: 11-Piece Set
I really l Iike these stainless steel pots. I had to learn the trick to using them, and that is to make sure they are heated up properly before using. This makes them "non-stick" and your food won't stick to the bottom of the pot, especially if you're frying it. Also follow the manufacturers instructions and "season" the pots after you receive them, by coating the insides with oil and heat them up. They cook really well, are light weight, easy to use, easy to clean, very sturdy, shiny surface, and holds heat after you've finished cooking. Also, don't use harsh scrubbers in them because it will scratch the surface. Scotch Brite Scour Pads work well in these pots. If you scratch them, use the green Scotch Brite Scour Pads to polish the scratch marks out. Enjoy them!
